Really disappointing how everything has turned out. In his first few games for us he looked very sharp (vs Juventus for example). Maybe it was just the direct comparison with Deleufeu though.

It's everyone's fault but Dembeles. We need a elite coaches, the best in the world to teach Dembele how to complete short passes and trap the ball under his feet.

Plenty of successful players were injury ridden during the early stages of their career, injuries didn't suddenly cause them to forget how to pass and control a ball. They still possessed their technique and passing ability (Robben for example).

Dembele never had the ability to go elite. Once again, there were plenty of people here being skeptical of his technique before we signed him. Cal back to all the "he looks raw, ball looks loose with him" comments before we signed him.

If we had pep instead of valverde, Pep would have signed him off to some other team after a single season in Barcelona.

You're not supposed to learn the basics of football at the age of fucking 20 at Barcelona.

He worked in Dortmund for Tuchel because the Bundesliga is a league with shit loads of open space benefiting speed merchants with poor technical ability like Dembele and Werner.

This will be Manchester United fans in 18 months concerning Jadon Sancho.

Barcelona have made a 4 year contract renewal offer to Ousmane Dembele. The salary would be 6M net per season, half of what he is currently earning. — xavicampos

Still 6m too much

I think this will be our one and only offer to him. Let's see if he takes it.

Trying to reduce his impact on the books for next season and get him to reduce salary.

Similar to Roberto in player they most likely dont really want all that much but are trying desperately to free up funds for Messi deal.

But he won't go anywhere this year and we need to lower our wages.

I suppose they want a wage cut to take effect now if he accepts our offer. That'd be a win...of some sorts.

Then offload him whenever it becomes possible again. It's risky though and can backfire badly.

Yes, I understand their logic and with lower wages he'd eventually also be easier to offload. But 6m for someone with his injury history is still too much.

We don't have many options. Since he won't be back until possibly November, we can't even loan him out to get another club cover his wages partially, right?

If he doesn't accept the paycut then he will just walk next summer.

Yeah. 6m figure is kinda weird though. I thought he made 12m gross which would be more of less 6-7m net right now.
