The minute this clown is outta here, everything will get better. The nerve on him to ask for a bigger salary after he missed like 70% of his contract it's outstanding. Let him go.

He's not worth all the hoopla, it's either he renews or we just let it ride, nice to have his pace but it is what it is.

"Dembele has been playing cat and rat for months with Barca, and Mateu Alemany and Joan Laporta are starting to get exhausted by the situation. The scenario hasn't changed. Nor after the summit held yesterday between Mateu Alemany and Moussa Sissoko. Almost three hours of unproductive meeting. Barca insists on a renewal proposal with a contract based on objectives and performance. Variables grow according to their benefits and the fixed part of salary is lowered. Dembele is not convinced. Neither he nor Moussa Sissoko. His agent has become the main wall. Sissoko wants Dembele out of Barcelona because he wants his share of the cake in the form of a commission. The agent yesterday asked for more time to assess the club's proposal and Barcelona suspect that so many evasive ones lead to a bad end to the story."

Just let his sucker get the hell out of here.

Damn, I should have offered myself to Barcelona as a player. Even though I suck at it. I could be making millions by being useless, playing videogames and staying injured all the time.

Laporta going the Barto route by making wild claims of 'Dembele better than.... Neymar/Mbappe'.

Surely if Dembele you hear that and want paid if club rate you that highly. Seems counterproductive.

Compromise and renew him with 50m buy out on modest wage. If he performs well Barca are under pressure to renew contract and if he doesnt there is an easy out for both.

Laporta talks too much, that's the part I don't like about him, there's some part in Laporta that wants him to be the star of the show, rather than conduct a great business from the shadows, like a top president would do.

When you talk too much you increase your chance to say dumb things.

But that's just how he is, I accept it if he does the right things for the club, despite his usual mumbo-jumbo.

Yeah, I agree. When the Barca executives went to Man City to negotiate for Torres, leaks were everywhere. I couldn?t help but have a vision that Laporta was leaking information pertaining to the negotiations deliberately, so as to communicate to the world with grand fireworks in the background: Barcelona is back😂🥳 Very histrionic, but I still like the guy.

Laporta's words are an attempt to soften the ongoing negotiations. There is no basis on Dembele/Mbappe comparison. Deschamps knows best the talent level of both players and we all know which one of these players is benched.

The good side of Dembele is his goofy nature in training, that contributes to the good atmosphere at the club. But on sporting side he hasn't contributed much - he has gazelle speed, but his muscles are too sensitive at top speed, also at age 24 his talent still seems raw. Have no idea why Xavi insists on keeping him at the club... I believe Dembele will improve under his coaching, but for me it's not worth it, he's a lost cause.
