Yeah I agree, most people wouldn't but it's like playing a Russian roulette. If there is a chance why risk it?
Issue is more around personal choice, credibility & trust for a lot of people.
There's a lot of misinformation from both sides and its led to two extremes.
Just for eg. in AU:
pro Vax: it was propagated by both governments and media that being vaccinated would reduce or even prevent transmission (no real basis other than theory & total bs for 2nd claim). which would lead to us being open and no longer requiring lockdowns or restrictions/rules once the population has reached >80% double vaxed status. I'm also ignoring the fact they've gone back on their word and introduced mandates and are trying to reintroduce restrictions even though we're >90%).

anti vax: new untested vaccine with unknown short or long term side effects (not entirely true as its based on sars which has been researched since 93)
Causes deaths & blood clots (true but % even smaller than potential complications from having covid)
and there are obviously the outlandish ones as well but i wont bother mentioning those lol.
