This is from today's training and I think it's Dembele in the background at 02:54

P.S. - he's there definitely, had a shot on MATS during the small-pitch practice. The social media department is just not emphasizing on him for understandable reasons.

Thanks. I am hoping that he will conduct himself professionally, train hard and in case we have a change of heart, be ready to play when called upon.

Everybody and their mother is scoring against Barca these days.

True about training goals. Wouldn't give them such importance, we are yet to see Adama in action. The good thing is he is fit and ready to go. In his latest Instagram post Adama said he had fun in training with the new teammates, hope this translates on the pitch.

Some of you are portraying a professional footballer as a lazy ass who doesn't even care if he plays as long as he is getting his paycheck.
It's a punishment if he doesn't play -> it affects the footballer's morale first and foremost
It's a punishments if he doesn't train -> it affects his capacity of still being a professional athlete
It's a punishment if he spends 6 months like this -> it affects his chances of getting to the WC with France AND the offers he is getting come summer

He can try find a club to allow him to use their facilities to train, but that would be hard too

But, bottom-line, it's not about some pleasure Allemany will get from the punishment.
It's about the STATEMENT to everyone around

Amen

I was talking about the "punishment" of releasing him unilaterally while paying his salary for the next 6 months and he will find a club to play, no question about that. Who wouldn't want to take him for free for 6 months with zero cost? Hence no point of releasing him now.

The statement that you kept talking about is pretty loud and clear: Barca under the current management is a petty club. Crybaby. They didn't get what they wanted (renewal) so they punish the player to this extent.

Statement is clear. Renew or fuck off.

He had enough chances to leave he didnt take. No player is going to care. They know dembouz is a fool.

OK, perhaps starting from now we should insert something like this to every player contract that will be signed in the future:

"If desired by the club, the player has to renew or agrees to be sold by the club to any club deemed appropriate by both the club and the player, no later than 6 months before the current contract expires. If the player refuses to do so, he/she will not play and be sent to the stands for the remainder of his/her contract. ".

Let's see if this will work.

Bro this is what every team does. They are either sold or they renew when they have one year left on the contract.

Nonsense.

Chelsea have Azpi, Christensen, Rudiger all expiring and playing.

Mbappe is playing although to be fair he tried to leave.

Pogba at United is playing.

Dybala is playing for Juventus.

Kessie is playing for Milan.

Sule playing for Bayern.

Brozovic playing for Inter.

Dembele has been playing until recently.

Many more where players have not renewed and club dont put them in stands as it makes no sense if they improve the team.

I feel like this is a new trend. When was the last time we saw so many good free agents? Never before?Players realized waiting for contract to expire gives you total freedom and way more money.

No idea but the point is these clubs with any sense are not releasing these players or putting them in the stands when they dont renew.

The argument will shift to some shite about Dembele being different now that point of players needing to be taught a lesson with expiring contracts is provable nonsense.

A lot of them have been in disputes with clubs and them pissing off one another in negotiations also.

Barca releasing or putting Dembele in stands would just be them afraid to lose face as they made a stupid public comment about him not playing again.

The end of contract trend was bound to happen at some point with the ludicrous transfer fees demanded by clubs and also players being able to negotiate lucrative signing on fees.

Bog standard players were getting in the 40 million pound range.

So much fucking talk about this useless chump.

This club is in shambles. Juventus sign Vlahovic and we play 69 ultimatums with Dumbele and his bum agent.

You could build a CL winning team with players running that their contract. Imagine telling someone a few years ago that you could build a team for "free" with players like Donnarumma , Pogba , Mbappe etc.
