thats like saying ter stegen is our best goalkeeper.

ofc he is, he's got no competition. hes literally the only 1st division quality winger we have with pace. all the others ones are either too slow, injured, or of championship level quality.

"our best winger" isn't the compliment you think it is when this is the worst forward line since the 80s.

Reality is, he will be still our best winger if he stays.

To much positions to fix.

I am glad he is not injured, can't belive he is playing 5 or 6 months without injury.

G+A as in almost no goals and crosses into the box. Yeah...

Most of those goals are the work of the forward.

Are we gonna pretend now that for example Arujo's goal vs Madrid is not like 90% his work (beating the marker, connecting with the cross, directing it past the keeper)? Dembele just put a floater into the area, that's it. It's a good cross, but nowhere near what a forward should do.

He creates the most chances amongst our forwards, so his high assists are actually valid.

Dembele wouldn't score many goals even if he played as an inside winger. Have people seen his finishing and shooting in general?

The only time he's been okay goalscoring wise is when he's played on the LW because as he's said himself he prefers shooting with his right foot, but dribbles with his left foot, which is again why he is more or less useless on the LW.

He is what he is. An extremely flawed player capable of moments of brilliance but no consistency whatsoever. Won't change no matter what you do with him.

Another common misconception about him.
He is totally ambidextrous, and whatever he can do with the left, he can with the right as well.
He has been played as RW much more than LW, where he plays only the very few minutes Xavi has wanted to have him and Adama on the pitch at the same time.
Give him a run of 3,4,5 games as LW and he will pull identical moves as the ones he is pulling on the RW

This thread is laughable
Full of haters, who whine 24/7 about him, while giving him 0 credit for his season.

Comparing with him Salah, Mane, Jesus, and tons of others who are NOT EVEN wingers, but a wide-forwards

And OC as a winger, he is the most creative player in this team BY LIGHT YEARS, evident in all advanced stats one can find (but what am I talking about? People here don't even recognize his assists when he is joint 1st in LaLiga)

Want Raphina here, so that Dembele will prove AGAIN he is the best winger in this team. And no matter who we bring in, he will still be the best winger this team can have...

Waiting for the moment when he renews, and the whole clownery of haters here will go nuts!

Best winger in the team is Ferran Torres. Dembele is better than Rapinha but thats not saying much cause they are both duds.

Ferran Torres is not a winger. More like a wide-forward if he ever learns how to finish

A winger who can't dribble for his life is not a winger.

He has improved under Xavi. His ball control improved, he is trying some new tricks and he has added bit more short passes to his arsenal. Now they just need to fine tone his kicking and it's starting to look good.

He has some untapped potential.

Worth keeping depending on salary.

He won't renew though. And then you will go nuts, I imagine.

Look how well Lucas Vasquez has been after being converted to RB. Let's not pretend and hope Dembele learns how to score and move him there as well so his scoring inability doesn't matter.

Wide forwards have replaced wingers in modern football. Guys like Quaresma are relics in modern day. Dembele is kind of in the middle of both.

He has his uses and is very good in small doses. But give me someone who can score 6 and assist 6 instead of score 1 and assist 11. Why, because in crunch moments they can solve a game themselves.

No, he cannot.

Vinicius, Mahrez, Sterling, Sancho are all wingers these days.
You don't have to be Salah or Mane to play in modern football
