He was ironically better on the LW than when moved to the RW.

I think he was better on the rw when he settled there in the 2nd half and laid in some nice passes to Pedri and Alonso from there. Would've also just gone for the easy pass to Lewa when he went on his run in the 2nd half, rather than trying to set it for Pedri. That being said he looked tired early on, kinda how he was when we won Madrid last season and kept giving balls away

Problem with him at LW was pretty evident yesterday
with the LB advanced taking over the flank, Dembele receives in the left half-space, let alone that this happened many times closer to the halfway line than the opposition's box

which is a terrible position to receive for his skills and qualities.
It's a position you would want someone like Pedri to receive and not Dembele.
Many of his giveaways yesterday were because of that -> he feels lost in the md especially vs such a top opponent like Bayern

Xavi has to work this shit out.
Either he receives as wide as possible on the flank (right or left) AND as advanced and closer to the box as possible
OR his qualities go wasted

I really don't want to shit on dembouz. He is improving and looks motivated..
But by this:"
which is a terrible position to receive for his skills and qualities", you really meant:
"Which is a terrible position to receive for his lack of skill and missing qualities".

Don't take this the wrong way, but be pragmatic. He is clumsy on the ball. He has no close control. He is too causal with passes. And he is fast as hell and occasionally passes through defenders as they aren't there. I am just being honest.
All that said, he is our most dangerous and creative player currently.

I wonder if this is a record for a Barca player.

lol, This happens with attacking players sometimes and not just him. Sofascore reports him losing possession 25 times in that game but Messi has lost possession 30 times and more in games in Barca. Kevin De Bryne even lost possession 27 times against Dortmund in UCL days ago, and another example is Neymar losing possession over 30 times in Barca in different games, one of his highs was 46 times against Juve in 2017. So there's that, they're attacking players and they take risks (part of the game)

It depends on the successful attempts whether 26 is acceptable or not. But it felt like Dembele didn't do shit vs Bayern.

He is not a midfielder.
I don't expect him to make Xavi's pelopina turn to keep the ball or thread through-balls from the half-space.
But it's not as simple as saying 'he is casual with his passes'. Look at the passes and crosses he makes from the flank.
Are they good? Hell yeah

So it's best if he is used in a position that resembles an attacker rather than a midfielder.
And the problem stems from the clash of positioning with the advancing LB

Do you know the % for possessions lost?

Crazy how much people can change in a few years; man went from staying all night playing video games to getting married to starting a family within the span of 3 years or so. Great stuff. All the best to him, wish him luck.
