Its so predictable - once people cannot find any angle to bash him in terms of football anymore, they will start trying to pretend like they were talking about injuries all along and morph their criticism into that.

He is injury prone, it's true. Much less so with Xavi though and in the end will probably be similar to Pedri's availability this season. He has been around for most of it and helped us to build this lead.

Once people don’t find points to criticize him over in football terms? You’re making him sound like 2011 Messi lol.

Calma, this guy has yet to dominate more than half of the big games he is available for, has a history of missing layup goals in CL semis (Pool), and got yanked before HT in a WC final for being completely useless and unable to handle the big stage

He’s a good player who’s injury prone. That’s about it

Well, the other thing is the attacking talent in football generally is nowhere near what it used to be. Flair is getting trained out of players and its a lot more mechanical these days, no more Messis, Neymars, Luisitos, Ronaldinhos... It is a real situation that Dembele is one of the best wingers in the world, like it or not.

How many can you name that you would swap for him now, everything considered?

In this period where he's managed to stay fit (before current injury obv) he was showing how good he is... Believe he will continue to show it if he can stay fit and has clearly been growing with consistent playing time.

Fool relapsed while in the stands. He would have been sent straight to the morgue if he was on the pitch.

Doing it on a cold rainy Wednesday night at Sunderland sure is tough.

He's a fantastic player but not World Class. He's the level below that. Good enough to be a starter for a big club but never the main man. Plus very injury prone to say the least. Manager love him because he can get you solutions on his own out of nowhere and they all think "I'll iron out his flaws and add end product and great decision making to his game" but it doesn't work that way.

He'll never hit peak Salah/Mane/Bale/Robben level. Forget Mbappe level.

Good post overall. You're deliberately being abrasive with the wording but you're correct with the basic point you're trying to get accross. He's the level below World Class. Similar to Rashford. Not best itw or elite potential.

Almost every non-troll poster has talked about his good, and even top class attributes. He has plenty. It's also logical to talk about his problems and shortcomings, like all other players.
Only Birdy sees nothing wrong with him and it's ok, since he is a fan.
I firstly think he has improved his consistency a lot this season, which was a main issue he had. Also, his decision making has improved.
Saying that he is injury prone is not far fetched. He is. There is no sugar coating this, and we can't blame the manager for giving him minutes.
Those consistent minutes is what he was missing what has improved him.

Wait, did you really compare fking Ronaldinho's flair to Dembele???
