I never understood why Barcelona needed him. He plays well, plays badly, there is no difference, his contribution to decisive matches is negative. And he does not score. Any player, Abde for example, will be much more useful and score more of his goals.

We are in a position where we need all the good players basically. Don't understand these posts frankly. We don't have elite offensive players in their prime in any positon or anything close, be it winger, AM or 9. Of course Dembele is needed and important for us.

The elite we can afford is washed up Lewandowski. So good players like Dembele and Raphinha, albeit different in style, are more than welcome for me thank you very much.

What's the other option lol, Fati and Ferret?

What is happening is people are as per usual taking the opportunity to hate when he is injured and his great form during the season has been forgotten. As previously said people try and merge their critique of his injuries into critique of his ability. It is nice to see you are not doing this.

Up till he got injured he was basically our only offensive threat and now he is not there we are having to score a goal and park the bus against mediocre Liga teams, suffering every game.

Additionally if we're continuing with this defensive style system where there won't be many attackers and we will play on the counter he is one of the best players you can have, with his great dribbling skills and lightning speed. Really doubt he leaves as he needs Xavi and Xavi needs him.

True, I mean you can make fun of Dembele for missing the big action this season... but still, easily one of our best players from midfield up. We got lucky Raphinha turned up after he got injured, or else our season would've been done after his injury.

When you break it down he had 6 or so great games before the injury and was merely good the rest of the season. For the promise he has shown it's a disappointing season again.

Next year, eh?

He was better than that. And should be fit for the last 10-12 games, so too early to call it a night.

If you check Capology you can see how the sporting department structured the clubs wages.

We have circa 24m/year wages for Right wing (12.5m Raphi, 12m Dembele).

Then there is circa 24m also left wing (13.5m Fati (lol) and 10m Ferran (lol) ).

The ROI for RW is pretty on point with how Raphi and Dembele have performed.

LW on the other hand is fuckin diabolical and good job selling either. Especially Ferran considering how we pay him well over his market value.

Striker up top is on 20m with all in on Oldowski.

Of course this isn't counting signing fees.

So overall Dembele is worth his wage, renew him for the same with a higher release clause as he is showing he is still not reliable injury wise. But a solid top tier hand.

On point. And fucking up a good right wing as it is right now is unfair for the players that turned up this season an plain wrong. What we need to do is invest for better left wingers. And use the 1-2 years that Lewa has left at the top to land a top center forward.

Look at the contributions from attack this season, Lewa, Dembele, Raphinha, and from the left side only disappointments.

If he is fit and at his best for Madrid 2nd leg in Copa and Atletico at home, I would consider it good news. If not, then he indeed missed the entire big action of this season.
