Great player but overrated back in the day. I think it helped him that people started expecting less when he left Barca. He chokes when people expect him to do something and there's pressure. Also, this is not really whole season. He was good all the season but it's in 2025 that he, along with PSG, moved to a different, noticeable level in performances and started getting these ballon d'or shouts as well.

He stepped up in a big way today, converted the penalty with swag too.

I don't really think he was ever overrated. His career here was just devastated by injuries and they kept breaking his momentum when he found runs of form.

People remember him for his miss against Liverpool but missing a chance in a 3-0 lead already was never the real reason we lost.
