Its easy to wait for a player to fall out of form and then claim you were correct about them the whole time ; he's always been a great player so this comment is strange.
The only thing that can be said about him is injuries held back his career massively. Not sure when he was ever 'wank', and dismissing a whole season as a purple patch needs a reason behind it.
Not sure where I said he is a poor player. He's always been a good, talented player.
But he has flattered to deceive for many years. Also, a player can 100 percent have a good season which is surrounded by mediocrity throughout his career generally. The fact you think all it takes to prove ability is one good season is what is strange. A purple patch can absolutely last a whole season - you not understanding that raises serious alarm bells.
Anyway, we will see. I would bet a lot of money he will have regressed by this time next year - hell, he might even flop in PSG's upcoming CL games. Still be a respectable, good player yes (wank is for effect), but he definitely won't be the 'world-class player' he's being lauded as here.
Same goes for Raphinha by the way, though I wouldn't be surprised if he maintains his level as he has superior support at Barca than Dembele has at PSG. When a player suddenly starts playing way better than he did before, he can either be fulfilling his potential, or at their age (28 and 29 or whatever they are, born in 1996 and 1997) it';s more likely they might just be hitting a period of form.
Anyway, we will see. I have seen this many times before. I have talked to guys like you on players like this before. I remember being called a clown for calling Lingard a poor player, when he had his little purple patch in 2017. Then he went back to being rubbish and those people apologised to me, lol. Now obviously Dembele is way more talented than an absolute non-entity like Lingard, but point stands.
