Paco Alcácer

Scoring is not everything, he opened up alot of space for other players with great runs and made great assists

Fair point, but still...you could clearly tell Suarez needed some time to adapt as he reached greatness at the beginning of the new year.

Suarez was equally bad in his first few games. It is too early to judge. Give him time.

Ehm, yeah - but Suarez was a killer striker long before a few mediocre early games for us. Paco was a decent striker in Valencia, but lacking the quality for Barca - he sucks at dribbling, bad first touch, etc. Overall, he is lacking so much technique to be a Barca player - Pique is twice the #9 Paco will ever be and Ter Stegen is better with the ball at his feet than Paco. I never like the transfer and it looks like he will be gone very soon. Gomes and Umtiti were very good transfers by the look of it, Digne is a very good backup - Vidal and Paco are crap and I'll wait a while before I judge Denis.

I dont think he will be better than Munir for us but too early to judge him.Lets give him time Copa Del Rey matches will be important for him.

Munir was actually showing much improved technique, footballing IQ and finishing the last couple of months before we decided to sell. Big mistake imho. Also, Munir - even when better on #9 - was lightyears ahead of Paco on LW/RW. Paco looks completely lost out there.

Is it me or always just b4 this guy get the ball for a tap in a defender come out of nowhere in the last second to cut the ball?look like it happened like 3 times today
Not sure it is bad luck or what

I remember Suarez not scoring his first 3-4 games.

Suarez in his very first game got an assist against Real Madrid after having not played a single competitive minute since the World Cup.

Two things are wrong with this comparison: The suggestion that Suarez was anywhere near as bad as this when he first started, and that the circumstances are comparable.

He's more reactionary than proactive to the pass coming his way is why. We can talk shit about Ronaldo and his tap-ins all we want, but he's always setting himself up for them. When Paco is getting the ball hooked away from him right before a tap in, it's because he's usually running onto the pass to receive it, which usually gives the defender a chance to run onto it as well, and since Paco obviously isn't very fast, he's likely to miss out on those.

Not bad luck - bad timing, positioning and footballing IQ. The first chance he got, the pass from Suarez, he ran behind the defender instead of trying to get in front of him - misjudged that completely. A veteran world class #9 would score that 99/100 times - Paco didn't even get a foot on that ball.

Yeah, but Suárez was an automatic starter since the moment he was allowed to play, so he had more chances to adapt... Truth is that we needed to have him firing in all cylinders as soon as possible, which is not the case with Paco...

Is it really true that Paco only had 7 touched in the 50+ minutes he was on the pitch?

I counted maybe 1 or 2, but 7 was probably more accurate than. Yeah, totally invisible.

I never suggested those things though. The only thing I wanted to point out is that Barcelona's system takes time to adapt, and Suarez was just another example of that.
Far too soon to judge Paco.
