Paco Alcácer

He's a different player than he was at the start of the season without a doubt. He's more confident, and he's working harder off the ball and to get into positioning. Earlier in the season he looked lost and his finishing when he got the chances wasn't very good.

Quite the turnaround in his overall game.

Its not that unusual, it takes time to adapt to a new team and certainly to Barcelona, another good game from him.

Quite the turnaround in his overall game.

It isn't just confidence, he now understands the team, look at his movement in Messi 2nd goal,he knew what was going to happen and stayed away from Messi. He now knows where to be,where his teammates are and he is actually natural in recognizing the opponents. He is now a part of the team not a stranger to the system, all lead to this boost in confidence and performance. He is getting me more and more impressed by him, there is a chance that when it is all said and done his signing won't turn into a mistake

fully agree @Khaled some players just take time to gel and adjust to different football systems especially the way we play

I think the interesting part is he's improved despite not playing a lot, (1.265 mins) going by transfermarkt. says a lot about his mentality as well, he's been working hard in training and wants to prove that he has a future here.

I hope he keeps it up.

Paco Alcacer:

“In the second half a free kick made it 2-1 but we came back well and in the end it turned out fine."

“What Leo brings to the team and to the fans is enormous, it’s everything. It’s great fun to watch him play and to play with him is something only a few have the luck to be able to do.”

“Every striker is reassured, made more comfortable and secure by goals, but it is thanks to the work of the whole team.”

“The penalty turned out well, it was supposed to be Rakitic to take but then they realised that it would be a great chance for Mascherano to open his account and that’s what he did.”

One word you will not use to describe Paco is "Lazy".
I am glad his hard work is finally paying off.

Yeah he works really hard and leaves nothing out there.

Reminds me a bit of Pedro in that regard. Other players have more ability but not many have better attitude and work rate.

The thing that really stands out now is that when he gets too isolated as a "9" he drops on the wings or mid to get the ball. When he started in Barcelona he just stayed in the "9" spot and looked lost. I'm glad he is learning.

He is a very decent backup, after all. We should keep him for another 1-2 years and see how things turns out for him.

Great game. Over the course of the season he has been a better transfer than both gomez and denis. Could see him become a solid backup in the future.

I always stood up for Paco because he is clearly a good player, but tbf, even I'm surprised at how well he has been playing recently after the terrible way Lucho managed him over the last 6 months or so.

But I am very happy to see it. Keep it up!
