He did a decent job of defending and his positioning was fine I guess, but it seems like he's never going to be a really Barca quality forward. It's hard to say he has any particular strengths to his game, but his weaknesses are numerous. If he was a great dribbler, a great striker, a great passer, or something, he'd have a chance, but he's well below average in all of those areas in equal measure.

Luckily, this looks to be our final season with him as our only backup option. Hopefully, it's our last season with him on the team at all.

This is true to some extent. But no two matches in football are ever the same. Sometimes Messi will do better without Ney, as he gets more of the spotlight especially tonight because he was on fire. Cant always be said though there have him plenty of games where without neymar we would seriously struggled
