Story on Optimus Prim in Sport today.

Basically they read the thread.

Anyways, this is all Pedro Soma's gain who has excellent potential but needed a ton of first team minutes in the B to be build around. I didn't see it happening with the way Prim was playing, but now the door has been opened.

La Masia produces midfield talents on the moving assembly line. You can't give everyone a spot in the first team. Especially with today's generation. Nothing wrong of him to try his luck somewhere else. The door will always remain open if he proves he has enough talent to join the first team and wants to come back anyways.

Yeah but from the looks of it, we actually give youngsters many good chances if they try - many more than most other clubs, probably out of necessity because of our financial situation... but also because it's been proven to work out for both us and the players. I'm not saying EVERYBODY from Masia who gives up the dream to play for Barca are destined to fail of course, but NOT having that fighting spirit here most probably means they won't have it in any other club and wont succeed anywhere really. I'll cut him some slack though, we're really stuffed with midfielders at the moment - like really...

I haven't seen enough to really evaluate the level of talent but he looks a more well-rounded player than either Casado or Bernal so it's not impossible that he will end up the better player in the long term.
