Yeah that might be true, which is why I wanted an additional player alongside him anyway. Like Kovacic, Tielemans or O. Torres. Just imagine, for 100M that we're likely to spend on Pogba alone, we could as well buy Gündogan and O. Torres / Kovacic / Tielemans and still have 50M to spare for a Dani Alves replacement and a CB.

Well, and paying 20M for a player who might never be more than a squad player is still better than paying 100M for a player who won't even play in the Champions League for us next year.

Agree, absolutely. Signing Ilkay and 1 additional player (but I'm not in favour of signing any of the players you mention) could be the way to go. He could very well come through, and even if it's a risk - so is Pogba and almost every other player you sign, right? Besides, Dortmund won't even qualify for EL - so he won't be cup tied and we should try to keep Xavi for the first half of the season.

Thiago was a Barca player that came through the youth system and played in the first team.

Pogba was a player taken from a French side that Alex Ferguson took Paul Scholes out of retirment to play ahead of and left for less money to get a chance of playing time.

Not same situation at all. Pogba owes nothing to Man Utd.

Didn't you guys play Xavi instead of Thiago even when the title was won, allowing his release clause to be activated, not much of a different situation, and he left for more money to Juve and was constantly late for training at United and believed he should start a PL game when SAF always insisted on players having to play in the cup competitions first before playing in the league. Pogba also came out and said he was a Mancunian but just had a falling out with Fergie, so if he goes to City he is a traitor in my books.

Yeah we won't sign him. It would be too embarrassing to have let him go for free and then sign him back for 100 million, the glazers wouldn't allow it.

He also wouldn't come back and i doubt the club would want him after the whole falling out with Fergie.

He will stay in Turin for one more year. Going to the bookies to put money on it now.

Juventus cannot finance their moves this summer without selling Pogba, so you're probably going to lose some money.
