We have a lot of midfielders in younger players like Suarez, Roberto, Rafinha, plus an oldie Arda.
While we do have a lot of options "on paper", at the end of the day, these options are more or less the same as our forward options where we have Halilovic, Munir, Sandro, Adama, Deulofeu, Tello.
Tons of players who are awesome on paper.
If one out of those six will turn into a decent squad player for us on whom we can rely, that will be a huge miracle.
One Nolito or Gameiro in this moment is more useful than Munir, Sandro, Adama, Halil, Deulofeu and Tello together.
One Gundogan or Pogba is like 2-3 times more useful than Roberto, Rafinha, Suarez and Arda together.
So, on paper we have a squad with depth and options.
But in reality when you want to rest (or if we have injuries) MSN or Iniesta-Raki, we have Munir and Denis Suarez, lol.
Imagine a CL semis tomorrow and one out of MSN is injured and one out of Iniesta-Raki is injured, and we play against Atletico/Real/Bayern with Munir+Denis.
I really don't watch that match and lose my nerves again.
Instead of having 6 midfielders in Raki, Iniesta + Arda, Suarez, Rafinha, Roberto, where we have 2 good players and 4 who are not good enough, we could easily survive with 2+1+1 instead of 2+4 (for example: Raki, Iniesta + Gundogan/Pogba + a squad youngster like Roberto/Rafinha).
Or if we want a depth, then 2+1+2 instead of 2+1+1.
But the current 2+4 is good against Getafes and Levantes at Camp Nou.
I don't see how a current team can survive in a CL.
And then, in 12 Months, we will whine again how crappy Real was lucky in a CL.
For the beginning, they have at least more than 2 good midfielders.
To rotate them both in key matches, but during a season, to save some energy.
