Paul Pogba

No, but buying only superstars don't guarantee you success. I'd prefer for us to buy someone like Bazoer and make him our Pogba.

When reading some posts here I just get a feeling that some people here thinks we'll win treble for the next 5 years if we sign Pogba and we won't win anyhing ever again if we don't get him.

Bazoer has got more than a strong hint of Pogba about him. Watch some YouTube clips if u haven't seen him.
He's a Dutch international and has said he will only leave Ajax this summer to come to Barca. Tbh I think we will sign him as the alternative to Pogba, but I doubt we will get him this summer. Mb we sign him the loan him straight back to Ajax for 1-2 seasons so he can still develop but we don't pay 10x as much in 2 years. Spurs are said to be sniffing around

Yep, theres definitely a portion of the forum that believes that. It's been like that for a long time. First time I recall was with Isco and secondly with Kovacic... And, well, since they signed Isco, I'm pretty sure Los Merengues haven't reigned supreme in any way whatsoever. Pogba is obviously better than the two aforementioned, but I have no doubt that losing an aging Modric will have a bigger influence in the capital than signing Pogba will.

That said, I would like Pogba at Barça, and I really hope Real won't sign him. I'm pretty sure they will, though.

Well, RM bought Varane, Casemiro, Marcelo and others for 5 to 12m euros as youngsters. When was the last time we bought something like that?

We're interested in the likes of Lemos, Davinson Sanchez. We're doing that too. We've unfortunately had a few bad low-cost transfers, but that doesn't mean we're only looking at superstars.

Pogba's quality is unquestionable but that doesn't guarantee he'd really adapt to our team and be successfull here. I just don't see him as that perfect fit as most of others. And he's way to expensive for us anyway so we won't buy him (this year and I doubt ever). But continue to dream if you want. :)

We're not only looking at superstars, but our "scouting" is pretty non-existent as well. How can we claim RM only buy superstars when they snap talents like Marcelo, Casemiro and Varane for hardly any money? We can claim that we have La Masia so we dont need it, but the last one to graduate from La Masia and cement a starting spot for us was Busquets 7 years ago...

It wasn´t like that last season when we were rumoured to get him.I wonder what changed.

Can't afford to gamble when replacing an all-time great like Iniesta. Pogba or not, we will need a world-class midfielder next summer or we might suffer greatly. That might happen already next season, but we don't have the money to buy one this summer.

Real buy more young players as they dont look to bring them through their own system.

Barca have bought the likes of Ter Stegen and Denis Suarez while promoting more B team players than Real.

Real have also wasted money on young players - 80k a week to a 16 year old, 20m odd loss on Illarmendi etc, they are looking to loan out Kovacic already, they loaned out Lucas Silva after half a season, sold Morata.

You always bring up Real as some kind of example to follow. Real like Barca, like every club have hits and misses in transfer market.

We've had our share of expensive transfers. The Ibra deal, Suarez lately and how much we've paid and will have to pay because of the Neymar transfer.

I really doubt he'd be too expensive for us. The 120m number going around is OTT and only a desperate Real Madrid will pay that, but they kind of are because of a transfer ban looming so good business by Juventus in that case, and the only reason for that high of a fee.

Whether he'd be a good fit or not is subjective, but that's not a topic I even touched so I'll leave that for now.

This drivel people aim at other posters is stupid. No one here is saying we should go all Galactico XI.

And this sign young guy and make him great part isn't as easy as people make it sound either. There's a lot of patience needed, and I don't see us signing a 19 year old and giving him 3-4 seasons to finally flourish in to a World Class player.

But hey, if you believe that should be done and could be done like that then keep dreaming if you want :)

It just becomes silly when we claim that their transfer policy is so bad, only buying galacticos etc while we really are quite terrible, giving away players/flops for free left and right while RM can sell so many players with real value because they buy players with sell-on value (James, Isco etc). Have we promoted more B team players? Maybe, but the last one to succeed was Busi 7 years ago. Real have plenty of great ones out on loan, they sold Morata with a buy-back? Whats so bad about it?

MAtS, Yaya and Piqué? Denis looks a good prospect as well.

I'll give you Ter Stegen. Although his price was halved because he had a year left on his contract. Its not like we discovered him in the French second division or Brazil like these RM transfers which require real scouting.

Let me quote you again:

Why doesn't Yaya (in particular), Piqué, Denis and Halilovic (I forgot to add him) apply here?

Well it looks like we're buying Lemos. How he turns out remains to be seen.
