Yeah, I mean it's of understandable that they don't want to make too many experiments at the level at which they play, but even PSG or Bayern take their time to promote some potential and that seems to pay off for them. It's a bit sad to see that the trend at Barca currently is heading to bigger names with experience who are peaking. For me personally it's definitely more exciting to bring in some new guy, then make him a worldbeater instead of buying all these players that everyone knows inside out already. Barca is not THAT much in trouble in the midfield, that they'd always need immediately succesful players.
Hell, even fucking Madrid has been promoting a fair share of younger unproven players in the past few years, don't let them have all the fun.

We've been betting on the wrong horses for quite some time now.

Could we have signed someone like Andre Gomes for example instead of Arda Turan? Sure we could've, but what to do when the coach wants a specific player.

Can sign anyone you want. Be it Bazoer or someone else, but whoever that is, he need to get regular minutes. Not a starting role, but regular minutes, and I'm not sure the current Barca got the patience or vision for that.

Yeah, I mean even barcaforum doesn't have the patience for young players. Look at how much the likes of Munir and Halilovic gets destroyed after one or two bad games.

There's more coming through their Academy though. La Masia is a load of rubbish lately.

That aisde, Barca always miss out on the next star. The likes of Martial, Coman, Dybala and Griezmann when they move are never on Barca's radar until they do move and their transfer value goes through the roof.

Future Balon d'Or they said. But in reality not fit to clean Payet's boots.

That's not really fair tbh. Although Payet scored the winner and was better in the 2nd half, Pogba played some outstanding passes last night and was exciting every time he got on the ball.

You think so? I'm watching a rerun of the game as we speak, and he was pretty naff all in all. A few tricks and flicks that'll look good on a highlight reel, but basically he offered very little of real consequence.

His haircut was more of a spectacle than his actual game...

I have seen a lot of comparisons to gerrard on redcafe and i can kind of see it. He is a poor mans gerrard tbf. A little flashier and cooler hence the hype but gerrard was better.

I'm watching a pre-match show here on Danish telly right now, and one of the experts made the exact same comparison. I don't know about who's the better player, though. Pogba probably has a higher ceiling.
