No, what they mean is that he took a paycut of a total of 7.5 millions through the 4 year duration of his contract.

If Barca actually manage to win something, he'll get all and more back through bonuses anyway.

Strange, the way they word it is as if he helped pay his buyout.

That would make sense too. Over 4 years that is nothing lmao.

Yes, he was on 7m net in China. He'll get 5m net with us (plus bonuses). No one is reporting that he "spent" any money on the transfer fee.

So, if his current wage is 5M, that means that we wanted to give him around 7M per year?
And then a good guy Paulinho accepted to earn only 5M per year?

A good guy Paulinho.
Our saint.

Man these twitter accounts don't know any Spanish or even manage to translate anything correctly.

It's in the article online. He was earning a bit over 7m in China and took a paycut so he's earning 5m at Barca.

Indeed. Helped Barca big time.

It's funny that people have always been complaining about Arda being on high wages when Paulinho a guy playing in China, is earning more than him now

At least Arda was a high profile player and an important member of Simeone's peak Atletico squad.

I was referring to them signalling Samper and Roberto possibly leaving the club and attributing it to the arrival of Paulinho.

You're right.

Didn't see this. Even MD suggesting Roberto might reconsider his future now as he wanted a bigger role this season and with Paulinho coming into his position and other teams being ready to pay his low buyout, he could leave.

And who is Valverde's Xavi?

I hear Parejo is still available :p
