This is one of the most toxic transfers I have seen unfold.

A signing that so many people were against happening and even Catalan Journalists were begging Barca not to sign him and instead go for someone like Seri who would fit the team. These guys know the repercussions of signing Paulinho considering the amount of problems we have had this summer and the last couple of season.

But they still did it anyway for no fucking reason whatsoever. they spent 40 million euros on a guy who turns 30 years old who doesn't have the right skill set to succeed here and not only that he flopped big time for the Spurs who a lot of spurs fans consider one of it not the worst player they ever had.

Worst of all we could very well lose Roberto because of this shit. congrats you dumb motherfuckers that insist on signing this guy because for some god damn reason you cannot live without the thought of a Midfielder who's only good attributes is running.

The expectations for this guy is so extremely low that I bet quite a lot of people will support the signing if he plays a few good games and scores some goals.

Probably what the management is counting on..

For people that are in tune with the corruption of the board: Can you guys tell me the financial motivations behind this transfer? Is it to keep the Barca market alive in Brazil after the departure of Neymar? was it part of Neymar's shady deal to bring in Paulinho? I'm trying to see what Bartomeu is gaining out of this....

Bartomeu stands to gain Chinese contracts for the construction company he is CEO and board member of.

Wow, I didn't know he had ties to Chinese companies. Thanks for the clarification. Makes a lot of sense now.

Josep Maria Bartomeu Floreta is a partner and CEO at ADELTE Group which is into designing, manufacturing, supplying and maintaining airports, seaports and road transport operations.

Apparently, ADELTE Group is expanding into China and bidding on projects like the Ocean Flower Island being built by the Evergrande group which also happens to be the parent organisation of—you guessed it—Guangzhou.

There are rumours that Florentino Perez’s ACS Group was also bidding for the project, but with the Paulinho transfer concluded, could be handed over to ADELTE Group and/or associates.

That idea falls down I think in what the Chinese side gain from it as opposed to losing their best player.

Let alone what folk on Barca side would lose if it came out to be true.

It is just a ridiculous signing that someone somewhere seems convinced he is good enough.

Evergrande is simply being slid money under the table via this deal to convince them to give Adelte the contract.
