Dude's been shit since our last CL win. That's 3 shitty seasons in a row. He scored goals against shit teams last season, but he didn't do much else.

He's depth if nothing else. But I'd rather give his minutes and dedicate our time to developing Sandro and Munir.

Yeah, that's true. I'm not even saying that we should sell him. It's just that... well, let's just say that I really hope neither of Suarez or Neymar gets a long term injury and/or suspension.

He's not the best in the world, but from some posts it looks like he played his worst match ever. He was in the hospital for 2 days this past week, still ran a lot, and could've scored a goal.

Yeah, just ridiculous. Nothing extraordinary today, but pretty much did what he was asked to as a sub with 10 players on the pitch: played CF when Barça had the ball, to pin back the two centerbacks (which meant he wasn't going to see the ball much), and dropped into defense when Elche had the ball. Took one shot through two defenders, on target with heat (of course, had he try to slip it through to the other closely marked attackers and failed, people would be complaining that he should have shot). Chased down a cleared ball and stole it from the defender. Lost the ball once when another player attempted a pass to him on the run when he was closely marked by two players (the pass was a bad choice).

Really, what much more did Rafinha do than Pedro (with 11 players on the pitch)? Munir had a fantastic finish of that deflected pass, but otherwise him and Rafinha had solid team performances, nothing more. I'm not saying they aren't equally or more deserving of time on the pitch, but the hyperbole here is just silly.

Great team play all around today. The only player I recall who deserved any flak is Busquets, who (as always) tries to be too cute when he doesn't have too. Entertaining when it succeeds, of course, but a liability when it doesn't.

Congratulations, you just detailed everything he did in his brief cameo. "Nothing extraordinary" are the key words in this particular paragraph, by the way, but the problem is those two words are the highest praise you can give a Pedro performance.

Rafinha had a decent game but overall he didn't contribute much. The difference is Rafa is 21 in his first season playing his debut match, while Pedro is 27, in his prime, and has won literally everything. As far as Munir goes... what game were you watching? That "Solid team performance" saw him come a crossbar away from scoring a brace. We've seen Pedro fuck up chances like the one Munir scored hundreds of times in the past but people like you would try to point out how much he ran.

Most of our players tend to be too cute when they don't have to be. The only ones who didn't seem to were Rakatic, Munir, Alba, and the center backs. And whoever it was taking a nap in our goal, I guess.

And we've seen him score them as well. And we've seen $$Neymar$$ fuck up just as many "Munir" 1v1s last season, so how about spreading your hate? Pedro had one hard shot on target today- perhaps had he had a slightly better angle between the two defenders, it goes in, and then he has as many goals as Munir, and everyone is saying "great game Pedro."

He was brought on with 10 players on the pitch, after recovering from illness, with the instructions to stretch the field by pinning the two centerbacks. He did his job, and nearly scored. Not remarkable, but part of a good team win to which all contributed.

And hey, if Munir keeps knocking them in like that, great, put him on instead of Neymar/Pedro. Munir, Messi, Suarez, I got no problem with that (hint: not going to happen, no matter how much Munir finishes better than Neymar).

Pedro did his dirty daily job but he's only doing the dirty job nowadays and it isnt enough for a Barca attacker.

Munir worked hard aswell, pressing and shit and yet still he was a threat, hitting the woodwork and then got into a dangerous situation and I dont know why he decided to pass, could've buried it easily (not to mention the awsome golazo, ABSOLUTELY WORLD CLASS finish).

Pedro this season will be a guy to come in when the game is won to give some rest to Neymar and others.

Lucho should have subbed in sandro instead of pedro, pedro is no more needed in this team

So, let's kick older and experienced players and play with Munir, Adama, Deulo, Rafinha, Sandro etc?

That is not how you'll win titles.
It is reasonable to give chances and minutes to 2-3-4 younger players but there needs to be a limit and common sense also.

How do you give experience to young players if not by, at the very least, giving them game time in the garbage minutes once a match is won?

Besides, Pedro no longer provides a lot, except for work rate, and the youngsters can easily provide that.

Experience is overrated. Pedro is shite and an 18 year-old outplays him on every occasion so far. Pedro offers nothing besides running like a headless chicken nowadays.

Let's dispel this idiotic metaphor, yes? Pedro has an identifiable gangly look to his running when he is pressing and cutting down angles between two opponents, but it is hardly without purpose (i.e. "headless chicken"). He offered similar runs in behind as Munir, and can't fault him for Dani's pass not being as "accurate" as Raktic's deflected pass. He was instructed to play at the top and received little service (expected, as he was marked by the two centerbacks), but his purpose was to open the space for others playing a man down. The few touches he received, he had 100% passing accuracy. He got one chance on goal, and took it well. His "headless chicken" running recovered a cleared ball off a defender and got it back into the box.

Let's describe Munir's game yesterday as if he were the hated Pedro:

"Sheesh, all he does is back pass."
"Sheesh, he justs gives the ball to Messi."
"Sheesh, 1v1 on the keeper with a gaping goal, and he skies it into the crossbar."
"Sheesh, he just squared the ball with no one there. Why didn't he shoot instead of always looking for Messi?"
"Yeah, nice finish, but that was a lucky deflection from Rakitic. Three chances in the box, and he only put one in. Same old Pedro."

I enjoyed the game yesterday, thought the whole team was playing well and clicking. Very entertaining. Lots of moves that didn't get a result, but were fun to watch. A fine opening game. But I guess the haters still have to find something to hate, no matter how good a performance the team put in.

Mate, you can't SKY a ball into the crossbar. :mou:

And yeah, Pedro had an alright game all things considered (his stomach issues). However, you can't keep defending him by saying that he did just as well as Munir (which he didn't), Rafinha, or another youngster. Pedro as an established member of the squad ought to do as well as or better than the youngsters. If the youngsters play as well as him, then there is no reason for Pedro to play over them.

LOL he wasn't even 1v1 with the keeper, it was a hard angle to score from and he smashed it on the crossbar while Pedro is running right at the goal and shots exactly where the GK stands.

Not even gonna reply to a guy with 'In Pedro We Trust' signature. Not worth it.
