People learn little from their victories, but a lot from their defeats. How do you deal with setbacks?
GUARDIOLA: Those are moments of great sadness for me. As if the floodlights suddenly go out. Seeing Barcelona go out against Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final in 2012 was such a moment. We were much better than our opponents, but then conceded an unnecessary goal in the return leg, and before we knew it we were out of the competition. That was a really tough defeat for me. I felt like I could no longer reach my team.

And was that what prompted you to leave Barcelona?
GUARDIOLA: Yes. If you can no longer reach your players, as a coach, the time has come to move on.

What a lame excuse. Just ask Ferguson.

Wait, I thought Pep left because of Rosell? ;)

Even the greatest managers can only do so much in terms of keeping their outfit hungry for more.

Doesn't necessarily prove otherwise. He may have wanted new players because he couldn't motivate the existing ones.

This is reality, not football manager. This words from pep are jibberish. Can´t motivate the team....lol.

Why does he keep talking about barça? Didn´t he said in September " Leave me alone" ?

He also said that was very hard to bench Messi. Wtf is that for? Totally uncalled for and a feast for haters.

So cruising in Bunfestliga makes it easier to motivate players? And why does he keep mentioning Messi for all the haters and tabloid to spill shiets.

Pep puts so much emphasis on motivation and ability to drive players, yet he goes to a treble winning team that has monopolized the German league football. Makes sense I guess.

I admire the guy, I really do, but he cannot possibly say that the players weren't responsive or motivated by him after the Chelsea loss. Surely, he would have some more faith in the players that played their heart and soul out for him on the pitch for 5 years, as it is obvious that all of the players still had tremendous faith and respect towards him.

Pep is a great motivator, tactician and manager, but he needs to not give up so easily when the going gets tough.

Not sure what´s more difficult to be honest. Ferguson rebuild the entire club from scratch and lead them to sucess for decades. It´s a huge endeavour.

Fergie's accomplishments are unique but they never reached the heights of Pep's which should put his Barcelona era in perspective

Hypocrisy at it's best.

Is he saying that he failed the team or that the team failed him? If it's the second (and I think it is) then it is definitely a slap in the face to the team that gave him everything. He should just stop talking about Barca, he's making it worse with each comment.

Again..why do people keep forgetting that he signed with Bayern in December 2012, not June 2013?

You mean the players who couldn't wait to say that they were sclave to a style(Pique, Mascherano, Alves), who criticized his tactics(Cesc) or said that Tito's Barca is better than Pep's. And then there are Barca's directors..or have you forgot aboout "Tito has already surpassed Pep, as a coach and as a person"? Honestly I don't understand how after all this there are cules who can even complain about anything that Pep has to say.
And if they played their heart and soul for someone or something, it was for the club that made them the best paid players in the world.

Pep is a great motivator, tactician and manager, but he needs to not give up so easily when the going gets tough.

This was Camp Nou in Pep's first league games..but I guess most of the cules wouldn't actually know in what situation we were when he became our coach. But then I read about how bad the crowd at Camp Nou is treating Martino now..

Hypocrisy at it's best.
How it's hyppocrisy when he was signing with a team that lost a CL final at their own stadium?

Is he saying that he failed the team or that the team failed him? If it's the second (and I think it is) then it is definitely a slap in the face to the team that gave him everything.

Maybe you should atleast read the entire interview before you comment..

Really? And how many times has he talked about Barca? Please enlighten us.

We will never understand how it feels to coach Barcelona, we will never understand the pressure. Even if we do, we have to understand that everyone have their own way or limitation in managing stress. It was obvious that the pressure has caught up on him during the final season.

Maria,

Ok, hypocrisy was maybe a too strong word, but my point still stands. Bayern is a strong team and if they win the CL this year, that's two CLs in a row, let's see whether he'll be able to motivate those players after that.

Guess what? I read the whole interview. Now what?

And I will just ignore the third question.
