Yes there is.

I said "that" not "there". There are reasons to forego the tradition of sportsmanlike behavior, like Mourinho's eye-gouging or Pepe's racism/physical attacks after which any attempt at being sportsmanlike is just for face value. However just because a few faulty tackles were made in a preseason match doesn't mean that it's right to completely disrespect the coach. That is considering that he has only handled the players for a few days and had nothing to do with the physicality. He was apologizing for the tackles, he obviously had no rough intentions for the match, and he seemed a very sincere guy. Pep just got irrationally angry.

I agree. I fully sympathize that Pep probably didn't even want to play that game and that he was likely forced to play the unfit WC winners just to fulfill some sort of publicity quota (and ultimately one of them got injured as a result).

Still, the MLS all star coach wasn't at fault for that and Pep still has to show respect to someone who was constantly apologizing for the bad tackles and viewed Pep as an idol. I don't like what Pep did and when he cools down I doubt he'll be very happy with himself either. Pep shook hands with dirty bastards like Mourinho who purposely created volatile situations and conflicts during games. Caleb Porter wasn't nearly at that level.

This.

Did Schweinsteiger really get injured by the way? Hopefully just a knock.

I doubt Schweini was left with anything more than a knock but it's still always a worry. Apparently Pep and Porter actually did shake hands outside the locker rooms after the match. I want to believe that's true and that Pep made up for his mistake, the source is the president of the USA football federation so it could be completely true or just a political comment to save face and avoid an incident. Porter himself shrugged off the incident and acknowledges that coaches often get heated. I hope it's resolved.

I remember during his last season here (2011-2012), he did something that didn't sit well with me. After we scored a late winner (it was a la liga game I believe), he turned around and cussed out the other coach and the bench. Was completely uncalled for.

He tends to get a bit too emotional. Just look at his face when he's on the sidelines. Dude's heart must be pound.

Yes, he did.

He also says that:

“Possession of the ball is only a tool with which to organise yourself and cause disorganisation in your opponent. If there isn’t a sequence of 15 previous passes, a good transition between attack and defence is impossible. Impossible.”

“It isn’t true that I left because [then president Sandro] Rosell didn’t support me in rebuilding the squad. I was at my limit of exhaustion and I wasn’t sure at all about what options I could offer the team. I didn’t ask to rebuild the squad, because I was the one who had decided to leave.”

“The way the club is organised, there are only two options: either you’re the power or you aren’t the power. And, against my wishes, I have been forced to pick sides.”

“The 4-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League is my biggest cock-up as a coach.”

What book is this please?

Just watched the video and wow...I feel sorry for the coach. The whole staff rejected his attempts to handshake.

"Es ist nicht richtig, dass ich ging, weil Rosell mich den Kader nicht umbauen ließ. Ich war am Limit, ich hatte nichts mehr, was ich dem Team geben konnte. Ich bat nicht darum, den Kader umzubauen, ich entschied, zu gehen."
"I didnt leave because of rosell not letting me revolutionize the squad. ich was exausted, i had nothing more to offer for this team. i didnt ask to rebuild the squad, i decided to leave.

He probably shook his hand, after he cooled down. He looked really angry when the game ended.

What an absolute dik. The All-Stars coach has little to no control over those players and who gets picked, literally got hold of them a few days prior and had a couple of training sessions with them. To somehow insinuate he was responsible for a couple of unnecessary challenges is child's logic, and a bit rich coming from someone who is behaving like a child.

Meh, he's just growing into the Mourinho role.

1. Lose game against far weaker opponent
2. Do or say something extremely stupid
3. Ridicule of point 1 successfully diverted from the players
4. ???
5. Profit

Moudiola. :worthy:

Nice were quite rough against Barca, almost injuring one of our players. I suppose Lucho should 've also refused to acknowledge their coach post-match. But then he's not a multiple champion, immaculate creation, so it wouldn't ve been acceptable or cool.
