Maybe he's trying to help. He's trying to say that those days are never returning and we should move in with a new era.

But things can change. 10 years from now, with a new board and all of this way behind, who knows what he will think. Things like this are not written in stone, people and their lives are not static, and especially not in the world of football. I completely understand that he said what he said considering todays climate surounding the club, saying anything else would just be hurting us and himself right now. Just imagine the distraction from the media after every bad game, or all the fabricated stories each summer...

Focus on one thing at a time, right now he's a Bayern giving it his all, and we're on a ship captained by Luis Enrique that we're still not sure if he will stear towards a good destination or fire a cannon through the deck sinking us.

Man, even Mourinho has more loyalty than Pep. Don't get me wrong, Pep is the best we ever had but he obviously has his personal ambition ahead of Barca.
Quite sobering.

Have a theory that Pep will take over United once his contract at Bayern expires 2016. His biggest signing will be Leo. Just a hunch.

Pep owe nothing to Barca. He did his job as a player and manager and moved on. Don't see where the 'not very loyal' argument comes from. Yeah, he took some of his old staff with him, he had the right to do that as well, and probably did the right thing considering how this board have worked on erasing everything he did by getting rid of people without any reason whatsoever.

He also bought a former Barca player in Thiago, but why not? He would have left anyway because he wanted more playing time and not be 4th on the so called merit list where even players out of form or playing with painkillers would be ahead of a fit and healthy you.

He had personal ambitions, but who does not? Everyone have so. That doesn't mean that he is disloyal in any way.

Mourinho having more loyalty than him? Care to explain?

+1

People implying that Pep is disloyal are being stupid. Like you said he owes us nothing for what he has done for the club.

Not surprised. I love Pep but I don't see him as Barca obsessed as someone like Xavi or Puyol were/are. He likes trying new things and new environments as evident to his playing and now managing career.

Actually I think he will come back but he will be sort of advisor ,sort of being what Cruijff was with laporta
The only thing Rosell and co changed was upping the No Confidence percentage from 5% to 15% and making it difficult to become a soci.

I think Pep will take a Tour of England, then Italy and then a National Team Coach before he ends his mangerial career.

He doesn't look like a coach who will love working with national team coaching tbh

Do you guys know what Josep Guardiola represents for us ? Josep Guardiola is the absolute epitome of FC Barcelona. He has given us EVERYTHING, PEP OWES BARCA NOTHING !. Pep came from La Masia, first he was a ball boy, then one of our best captains, then our greatest manager. I will never forget when I jokingly told my friend on november 29, 2010 that Barcelona will beat Real Madrid 5-0 And just like that we did. Best match I've ever seen us play, Testimem Pep we will always be eternally grateful.

I think the funny thing is that Pep has held more roles in Barca than any other person in it's history. Yet people still think he owes us more.

I never saw him as a ballboy but I'm willing to bet he was the greatest ballboy this club has ever had too! :pep:

Apparently, Barca were trying to get rid of Thiago on purpose, so he basically did them a favor by buying him.

I don't think it's fair to call him disloyal. Especially since it doesn't seem like Barca supported him very much during his time at the club.

I donno why Bojan insist on dragging Pep to Mourinho's level, or worse, make him worse than Mou. Tell me half the cuntish things Mou has said and done in his career and then tell me what Pep exactly done in comparison to deserve such a ridiculous comparison? I do not consider 'lingering' on a club loyalty. Pep has his own philosophy in coaching and if he thought he could no longer give 100% to the team then I respect his decision to leave. Calling him disloyal for that is a worse type of disloyalty and it's just plain ungrateful. And it's not like he suddenly abandon the ship to watch it crash and burn. He made his decision crystal clear a while back. Even some years ago he said he's not the Fergie type to stay here for a lifetime.

If you personally don't like Pep then that's another question. I for example dislike Mourinho at best (I can't stand him tbh) and all the titles he's achieved with Inter didn't change my feelings toward him.

i don't think the issue is that pep left or that he has goals beyond coaching barca. It's just when he says he never wants to coach fc barcelona again, that is quite a strong statement. He could have easily said "in the forseeable future", and everybody is satisfied, but when he explicitly says never, that is a bit surprising and maybe irritating for some.
