Pep Guardiola

good post man. Pep succeeded in making the team he wanted at bayern.
Sadly pep's last CL campaign will be overblown whatever happens. That and losing the national cup last season. And yes lots of luck is needed most of the time to lift the trophy.

But isn't it always like this? The trophies are the things that show at the end of the season or after years the success you had. Playing style without success will not be mentioned - when we talk about revoltunary play in the past it always includes lots of trophies, too.

The last two years the success was diminished by the two CL-semifinal losses. 2013/14 Guardiola went into the away match against Real too carefully (like he usually does in the away matches in the knockout rounds). An 0:1 as a result away is not so bad - but loss with one goal is very dangerous especially without away goals. Score a fast goal or hold the result until the match has stabilized (and Bayern sometimes needs time to adjust) and everything is ok - but Bayern caught a goal by set-piece very fast and with this it was virtually over - against a team that is great on the counter attack having to score 3 more goals is nearly impossible. After that the result did not really matter anymore...

And last season it was the injuries.

Article praises Neuer, Lahm and Alaba and that's correct. Although Pep was the one to play Lahm and Alaba in midfield.

I thought it was interesting what he told about Müller and Pep. That they needed 2 years to get used to each other and at the end both did make the other better. Was my imagination sometimes to.

From the start they did not have any problems personally with each other. Müller probably is near the ideal with his mentality and his character. In a lot areas he is Pep reloaded - the local guy that came to the club very early and that everybody can identify with, intelligent, relieable... But - Müller's game is it to find his own ways to success. And he is not the technical wonderkid even if he is a lot better than he often shows or what people judge him for. And Pep - a control freak who wants everybody to run like he wants them - who loves the players most that are great technically, the pass masters. They had their clashes - some landed in the newspapers and the press etc. started their rumours about Müller's transfer wishes...

Müller seems to get more freedom now and use it. And does pay back the more freedom. He more often shows his skills and e.g. today he really is two-footed whereas 5 years ago he still had a very weak left foot.

And Pep - does not sub him anymore when he uses his freedom. And does not sub him anymore in the last minutes of the matches as Müller is always fine for goals at the end of the matches.

Hi, its me..
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he is to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season in order to fulfil his ambition of coaching in the Premier League.

Guardiola, heavily linked in recent weeks with Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, told a press conference: “I need a new challenge and I want to use that chance to be a manager in England.

“I want to experience the atmosphere in England and I look forward to [working at] the stadiums there. I am 44 and it is the right time. There are offers but I haven’t signed for anyone yet. When I have a new club I will let everyone know.

“The atmosphere in the Bayern squad is super and I will do everything I can to keep it that way. I will give my absolute best until the end. If I was 60 or 65 I would have stayed, but I think I am too young. It was a dream, it is a dream. I am very grateful to Bayern for this huge opportunity.”

Guardiola also ruled out the prospect of trying to take any Bayern players with him to the Premier League, saying: “I will not take any players. They have to stay here.”

Pep is always so politically correct and over the top with it that it makes sense coming from him.
Still anoys me he calls Zidane the best ever when he trained the goat.
I honestly like Zidane but he is very overrated due to a few big game moments.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
Lip service guys, nothing more.
Although I still don't like it, he could have praised him without saying he's the best in history.
Or mby he said that to put zidane's and cristiano's relationship in trouble! Pep the agent.

He could just add "one of" to the best of all time comment, and it'd be fine. But now, Pep has a different answer for every question depending on the time of day, the press that's present, the country is in, etc.

:shakeshead:

Calma, calma

If this is lip service, then surely the "Messi is the best of all time" comments he made at Barca are also lip service. There he actually has a legitimate interest in big-upping his star player. Here he is airing his true feelings. After all, he was getting embarassed by Zidane in midfield when they played internationally.
