Pep Guardiola

I think the biggest problem will be injury prone players
A midfield that have KDB,Gundogan,Silva,Sterling working behind a striker like Aguero can be dominant with a coach like Pep
But Agüero,Gundogan ,Kompany all had their history with injuries and to lesser extent Laporte,Silva & KDB
Doesn't looklike he will have plenty of options outsider those who can really replace them from the bench

I don't know about their real quality tbh. Yeah, Aguero can be great, but he can also be terrible in big games. Sterling looks average atm.

Pep problem away from home is that he wants to still dominate games as well as keep to attacking. Look at Juve game this season no CB their 2-0 up playing so well, but he keeps attacking rather then slowing down, which invites Juve back into the game. Their were 3 games against City in the group stages when they met BM, they were 3-1 up and and were a man down, but he kept attacking and ordering his CB to join in, another game was they were winning 2-1 away and again kept attacking eventually Aguero scored another 2 to complete his hattrick, and one was in Munich against them 2-0 up after 15 minutes then they lose 3-2, even tho that game had no importance. Against us also playing a back 3 and trying to attack when he has no Robbery, Lewa with a broken jaw

It's more to do with his stubbornness then tactics, even with his style he can still stick to it, but when he has a lead needs to learn to slow down and now bomb forward.

According to Bild, Guardiola had a meltdown after the game against Atletico which saw him and his assistant Manel Estiarte dashing to the Bayern medical team and yelling at them "If Godin could recover this soon why the hell couldn't you guys do the same? ", followed by Estiarte cursing them "You damn useless idiots", something to that effect.

Wow. If true (and based on Guardiola's series of outbursts I believe it), what a jerk he is. Bayern had everyone available except Robben and Badstuber.

I wish you terrible luck at City, Guardiola.

A meltdown can happen, he is obviously very driven and wants to win everything. But it could be worse, at least he doesnt have Real Madrids medical team, useless bunch, really.

Guardiola inadvertently confirmed the Bild report during his weekly pre-game press conference today by saying this (the meltdown incident) sort of things should stay in the dressing room and those who leaked it to the press sought to hurt him.

Going a bit off-topic: There are atleast two agencies in the Netherlands alone that provide gay football players with wives (mostly some second-tier and third-tier models) all across the world based on a contract with a yearly payment for the wife. So these pictures, press photos all the other celebrity stuff mean nothing.
Having said that, when the german NT coach started to undermine Ballack's position as the captain in the NT, his then agent (Michael Becker, nasty person) spread some stuff about a gay-combo within the NT, then retreated really fast. Guess who became captain in Ballack's absence and stayed it despite the latter's return ?

Yep, there's a mole in the dressing room and according to Pep he's been there for at least three years. Van Gaal said the same in his tenure too. Narrows down the suspects quite a bit. :pep:

I believe that CR ex-GF was obviously a beard, though find it hilarious his sort of hiding it in plain sight now. No fucks given?

A shame sport stars still have to have beards in order to be still be marketable to an international audience. :/ Different topic later to be had.

Yes, it is. Btw. I just learned that "beard" means that type of escort thanks to you and urban dictionary  Never heard that before.

Totally agreed on the second paragraph as I think gay footballers and athletes have nothing to be ashamed of and it is tragic that some still have to hid in the closet.

But on the first, I am not so sure. I thought multiple female models have recounted of having some sort of one-night stand with Ronaldo? He has been faking all along?

You really think it is Lahm? :tata:

I think it is Lahm and always thought so, but not because he's allegedly gay or something, but to receive a better coverage of his performances. I've written that in this thread some four years ago I think in my argument why Pep won't go to Bayern (which turned out to be false obviously)

Funny how people tossing the name "Bayern" into the ring thereby demonstrating how they basically know nothing about that club. Of all clubs in the world, this is probably the club Pep is least likely to ever manage. There are golden rules in Munich - the profile of requirements to coach there are crystal clear:

The designated coach

- Must speak german - period.

- Must be an old friend of Hoeneß, Rummenigge or at least Beckenbauer or he's bearing the name Hitzfeld. If not, he's eyed very closely from day one.

- Must have played at the club with the exception of Lothar Matthäus who is even less likely than Pep to ever coach there. If not, same as above.

- Must never know more about the game than Uli Hoeneß. If he does, and Hoeneß finds out, he's immediately removed from the vicinity, forever shunned and branded as a "difficult person" in the next sky90 interview. In such occasions, the club may nevertheless feed off the posession style that coach teached these lame-ass players.

- Must always accept the players the "Uli-Hoeneß-lookalike-contest-winner" aka Christian Nerlinger wants to sign - no matter how lame they are.

- Must give an interview to BILD or Focus, or at least another magazine owned by Helmut Markwort, every two days - this can't be stressed enough.

- Must always pretend not to know that Philipp Lahm leakes dressing-room information to the magazines mentioned above in order to recieve high marks in their player rating.

- Must always field the players Nerlinger signed + never bench Lahm and Schweinsteiger no matter their form-curve.

- Must always keep silent in the dressing room if Hoeneß/Rummenigge/Nerlinger decide to show up and start yelling at the players and start throwing stuff through the dressing room. Afterwards, the coach has to repeatedly state he didn't even know they were there.

and, most importantly, never EVER use the players as he sees fit AND/OR change the formation that was used in the year before.

DennyCrane, I still find it hard to believe. Especially if the quid pro quo was getting high marks. I mean why risk your reputation and possibly your career for something so trivial?

By the way, do you think Lahm was the mole at the last Euro who leaked the German NT lineup to the press before the game against Greece? It was widely believed to be Kroos.

Don't take that too serious, it's just a gut feeling of mine and the post then was tongue in cheek. It just felt suspicious to me that Bild raved about his performances year in year out even when they were obviously mediocre or sub-par - and they always had the exclusive reports, seemingly in return. And he's been around Bayern for a long time now, the leaks continue and Bild always has them.

About the line-up vs. Greece, that might as well been Kroos.

Haha.... That's kind of an intriguing word to be used :p
