Pep Guardiola

Klopp, Ferguson and Ancelotti would not have got the best out of Xavi and Iniesta the way Pep did.

Pep + Prime Xavi and Iniesta was a match made in heaven. He was the perfect fit for us at the time he came in.

Xavi and Iniesta in particular Pep gets way too much credit for.

I give him credit for clearing out the old guard, give him credit for Busquets, give him credit for implementing a style that benefited the players, but, Xavi + Iniesta had just dominated Euro 2008, if anyone "discovered" them it was Aragones.

We are all basing it on a hunch.
I think Pep is on a wait and see mode. He wants to know if he can motivate himself and the squad this year or his time there is up.

Yes I know but JamDav always declares his opinion on this matter in such absolute terms that I try to tempt into defending his statement which is based on very little but his hunch

Dont you worry about it. Take it as just a hunch if you like.

If wrong then so be it but he planned for City to be his legacy and stay longer terms and added to that there is little place to go if leaves but down.

You could argue he's gone no place but down since leaving us.

He could do just as well at Juve or PSG who are no less prestigious than City.

What do you mean by his planning for City to be his legacy? Seems to me he went there because his friends were there and they'll pay him a lot and he'll leave when he feels the players are no longer responding as he'd wish.

Pep from his own mouth stated City as legacy for what he leaves there.. playing style, youth set up, CL trophy etc. At Barca he knows that is Cruyff.

Leaving for Bayern and then onto EPL after he had done all he can at Barca is completely different. From City job there is no real attractive move.

Other than change in family situation cant see plans being changed.

He is a sleazy boy though so family maybe not so important.

Well I can't see him leaving a legacy in terms of infrastructure personally.

Ultimately we can only pointlessly speculate on his future but my prediction is that he leaves in 2021.

I predict he wont based on what his plans were and more likely to hear about a one year extension in next couple months.

Lets see.

Timo Werner turned down Pep and Manchester City before joining Chelsea this summer, reports

Good for him. He fits a genen pressing, counter-attacking team rather than a positional play team that faces low blocks.
Doesn't mean that City is less attractive than Chelsea.
He wanted to be a starter, and he turned down Liverpool and Klopp just for that reason
