Pep Guardiola

Honestly if you don't think Guardiola had a huge influence on the best period of Barca's history then so be it, but he transformed a very disorganised and chaotic looking Barca and the next 4 years we were easily the best side in the world.

Sold Eto'o which cost us another UCL. Got lucky after being dominated by Chelsea. Had a shit last season. Like whatever dude.

Not even arguing pep isn't great or anything. But did he do anything that Klopp, Ferguson, Ancolotti, wouldn't be able to do?

Think this has been said many times before. Pep coming to Barca the same time Messi started emerging and Xavi/Iniesta becoming the best midfield duo of all times is just once in a lifetime puzzlepieces coming together at once.
Everyone played their role in this success. Laporta as board allowing Pep to make the controversial changes and trusting him. Pep with his vision and players perfectly suiting his vision.
It does not happen often, but it if does, magic will follow.
Pep is a great coach, but there has always been missing from his puzzle ever since he left Barcelona. This has made him question his solutions more and more. Its more of a mental thing already. He knows he has failed, but his solutions and responses have just brought more misery. He keeps overthinking his actions.

Yeah but it's not like people are treating him like a God, quite the opposite now, he's being labelled a fraud....

Only muppets are labeling him a fraud. He was an amazing coach for us and I'll always be grateful for that. To suggest otherwise is absurd and delusional.

I agree that he made a huge mistake in selling Eto'o who was vital to our success. Pep isn't perfect and over thought things, but he's done enough to be respected amongst the great coaches like you've just mentioned Klopp, Ferguson etc. My original argument was to someone who labelled him a fraud anyway, which is the polar opposite of what he is.

It's his tactics. He obviously has the best players, and he can do long game tactics winning leagues and stuff like Copa Del Rey/FA Cup. However, he flounders constantly in CL even when he was managing Barcelona.

EDIT: I await BBZ's analysis

Haha I like how people arguing to prove he's not FRAUD! Don't people have time for better debates to argue on ?

Eto + 35 million for Zlatan is one of the dumbest deals in football history imo.
Eto was already a better striker at that time, so even a straight swap is pushing it, why would you add 35 million on top of that?

Pep didn't make that deal. Eto'o was supposed to leave in 2008. Pep was desperate for Zlatan as he thought he would be the missing piece in his ultimate dream eleven. The big, technical, physical and ruthless #9.
Inter had the upper hand in the negotiations, hence the price.

He's always going to be in the mix with SAF, Sacchi, Paisley, Clough, Mourinho, and Ancelotti as one of the premier managers in club football history.

Considering he beat him H2H 2 times in the CL final....

I`ll admit, though Barca were the better team, if SAF had simply parked the bus Chelsea-style in both finals, he might have walked away with 1/2 finals, he played way to open.
Still, those two finals doesnt make Pep a superior manager to SAF, if you take a deep look into his career you`ll understand.

These kind of assumption doesn't mean anything and only idiots would say that.

Klopp, Ferguson and Ancelotti would not have got the best out of Xavi and Iniesta the way Pep did.

Pep + Prime Xavi and Iniesta was a match made in heaven. He was the perfect fit for us at the time he came in.
