He kept saying Barcelona is the club of his heart, you’d think he would return one day, sooner or later, in some whatever capacity. But I don’t know if he will ever coach us again.

He would press the button to disintegrate this club if he could ensure that he gets a competitive team at City for the next 5-10 years that would challenge for EPL and the CL.

Make no mistake about it.

Members of this forum live in 2012. This new Pep cares a lot about money and ability to buy whoever he wants for his squad. won't be surprised if he goes to PSG next. He ain't the coach to make a mediocre side good. He's the coach to hire if you're already a good team, but missing a piece or two. It's actually quite pathetic his last CL was with us considering the squads he had at Bayern and City

City have had a limit on spending in the past. United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all outbid City. He has improved City, then improved them again. This season to win without a striker.
The City group and investment into the team does suit him. The infrastructure around him appears to serve him well.
When the day comes for him to leave, I don’t see PSG as an option. The French League is too weak compared with the Premiership.
What may challenge him to leave City would be the Spanish national team.

He likes power and with City he has nearly limitless amount of it. Barca he has the president to fight with. Barcelona in general is not the easiest place for a coach.

Pep can do whatever his thingy is with City without having to worry other authorities. That's my guess.

Same issue with Bayern as Barca most likely. Imo.

City will be his legacy on stamp left at club. As much as he did at Barca that is Cruyffs club.

Has not reached peak there as did at Barca in first season and then stayed another 3.

There is nowhere but down to go from EPL.

Not same pressure at club like Barca where coaches never last long.

Unless his family situation changes he will be there for a long time yet..perhaps his mother dying of covid and wife moving back will play a part but doesnt seem to have so far.

But he is still our Pep

I think next step will probably be Juve in 2-3 years. One day Pep will come back home but this will happen when no of his old squad will play here.

Each year he stays at city I lose a bit of respect for him. What's he really done that's so exceptional since leaving us? IF he wins the UCL it's nothing other than exactly what should be expected after the squad he walked into, the money he's spent and the pandemic financially hampering other teams and not his. Also the declines of Messi/Ronaldo. Our and Real's inability to spend money on good signings. He has to win this final or he's been a failure at City.

Why would you. It's the ultimate Pepista jammy wet dream - having the money to ego chase the dream of 'figuring football out'.
