The fact that he signed something proves nothing. Rare are those who quit, divorce, walk away, leave the moment when they feel unhappy.

Having all the money makes him miserable since there is nothing to actually CREATE, INVENT, IMPROVISE... you just BUY what you want and let them play, what else? He is not the "type" that enjoys that. He fake smiles and satisfaction but it's fuckin' obvious that he's TRAPED: he lost his Mojo and not that much wanted any more. When he left us teams went to WAR for him, these days that would not happen. He has nowhere to go, all big teams have coaches and would not want him. So he stays. And buys. Hoping to win CL that way, but failing like that is eating his Soul peace by peace.

He needs to came back home and rebuild club and his Soul.

Please pass me whatever you are smoking.

No club want Pep??? Lol.

Pep is not unhappy at City he has always been the same when questioned at any club... knowing smirk and dismissive of anyone else knowing better than him or questioning him.

Bit of a prick is Pep but that all feeds into making him how good he is also.

Horatio

You're welcome
They pay him truckloads of cash.
He is respected and not under pressure.
He works in most exciting league against his rivals.
He got most players he wanted and seems to love working with them. (he has hard on for de Bruyne)

He's probably happy.

Let's say he got sacked last night. What would happen today? NOTHING. Maybe PSG would call him. Who else? Chelsea is fine with Tuchel, so is EVERYBODY ELSE - Liverpool, Real, Atleti, Inter, Juve, ... OK, Juve has a bad start but I can't see them sacking freshly returned man.

Decade ago it would be MAYHAM! That says a lot.

Horatio,

Yes, he has cash - but he seems the sort of a man that is driven by Passion. What Passion is in $ity and it's Galacticos?
Many are Respected. Ranieri is respected. He used to be undisputed # 1, Most Wanted, subject of War among clubs. Now he is just in top 10.
Oh, he IS under pressure. HE KNOWS how much he spent, how much quality players he has, how advantaged he is... AND HOW MANY CL HE WON WITH THAT. That eats him inside.
Yes, I rate PL as the Best - but as a fan. As a couch, it is shit to go from tika taka Art to Southampton style games. In PL Maguire is MOST PAYED PLAYER - imagine that in La Liga...
Yes, he buys what he wants - and that is not interesting on the long run. Only people that never had money don't know that.

He is Miserable but TRAPED: what can he do?

Tuchel is KILLING him lately, he seems Frustrated like hell.

Remember this Post (I'll quote myself in the future): he won't win any Trophyz this year. Maybe not just this year.

The team that Pep played against Chelsea was an absolute joy to watch. Those playing in it, loved it. They played for each other. Played Chelsea off the park. Pep did not over think it this time. He played the team that most imho would select.
City drove Chelsea back. Lukaku fumbled. Tuchel bereft of ideas.

The Guardian:
Whatever claims could have been made at various points over the past couple of decades for the quality of the Premier League, this is probably the first time in 40 years in which it is playing host to the very highest and most advanced tactical battles. Guardiola, in his time at Barcelona, defined the modern landscape of football, reimagined what was possible in terms of possession and positioning.

Chelsea v City was a tactical battle, two gladiators, and City - yes lost previously 3 times to Chelsea - triumphed. Pep loved it.

I am not certain what some are writing about on this thread, but it is Monday.

Have a good day all. Barca are unbeaten.

Watching that 1st half against Chelsea, despite going in to HT scoreless, the gulf in quality compared to Koeman's Barca was palpable. Just wave after wave of attack and to Chelsea's credit they were strong in their defense but it was only a matter of time to breached

Collectively, they pass & move in unison like a single cell organism - it's impressive. Reminds me of peak Barca. They only lack a true goalscorer but otherwise can create danger from all over the pitch

Doubt he would press collectively that much, and so, one less hard-working City player, disrupting their game.

Of course, its well possible he would make up for it with individual briliance, but the team would look different.

9 players running for 1 is fine as long as he bangs in 60 goals a season

Pep has a long way to go to prove he can beat teams like Chelsea in the games that matter...
Remember he lost FA cup semi to him and the CL final, which were all the games that mattered last season, despite City being touted favorites.

The win the other day doesn't say much, as we are in September still.
If he can pull the same win against Tuchel in April or May, that will be significant.

That league game they just won is more important than FA Cup semi final.

Chelsea are trying to in that game as much they did in CL final. They are not slacking off due to it being a league game. They are desperate to win that league.

Mental gymnastic and if Pep had lost folk would have been gushing over Tuchel and his record.

The win against Chelsea was a 6 pointer. Momentum has been with Tuchel and Chelsea. In Lukaku they got the striker they wanted. Chelsea were the team to beat. Pep recent record v Chelsea was not good. That was until City played them off the park.

Titles are not won in the first six games of a season, but they can be lost.
