Average level has been better than La Liga this season.

I do not even mean the level of quality of players, but the level of how they play. Technical, pass-oriented attacking football has never been a thing there, its always more about fast players running from one goal to another, loads of crosses and long balls. It is quite entertaining I must say.

Ive seen City play, considering the average level of PL teams, it is not surprising. As for attacking football, Bayern played such a boring style under him, alot of fans were not satisfied, in his last year Barca games were so utterly boring, i fell out of excuses why anyone would call it attacking football. Yes, he brings his ideas in, they work for a few seasons, then other coaches find proper countermeasures and you will end up watching 90 minutes of boring sideways passing and trying to walk into goal with ball.
Ive said it many times that I enjoyed our football alot more during Luchos treble season, but sure, that is just my opinion.
Anyways, I am sure there are many genius tacticians in the world, but they have been not lucky enough to get a chance to lead a golden generation or then have 300 mil getting any player they want.
Pep isn't playing defensive football . You are missing the plot . His style might be boring for many , but certainly he wouldn't ask KDB to play like a CDM .

Many tacticians aren't lucky to get millions to spend ? Sure , because they aren't as good as Guradiola to manage big clubs . Only elite managers gets a chance to manage big clubs . City owners believe that they can be Cl contenders if they trust Pep . They won't do that for the managers you mentioned .

Plenty teams playing passing football and the level of that for La Liga teams is over played.

The way you describe it is not how majority play at all.

And yes Lucho 's first season was damn entertaining. Loved it to the core .especially the counters . One against Ateltico in Calderon comes to my mind  for that

Didnt say he is playing defensive football, wtf are you talking about. Im saying his obsession over his style is limiting the ways his squad can play.
Elite managers need their reputation from somewhere, Pep was lucky to reach his coaching time on the exact moment all those wonderful things happened in Barcelona and Rijkaard falling out. City owners have trusted other managers as well, dont understand what has that got to do with anything. Real trusted Rafa Benitez rofl...

What manager should he be more like that has such great flexibility?

Peps stubborn side is at times a strength and a weakness but for him it clearly works over all.

You are asking me to name flexible managers? Allegri for example, I havent been able to watch too many Juventus games, but he is one of those coaches who takes opposition into consideration when he sets his team up. Valverde seems to be same actually.
And sure, if you have the best squad in the league, you can also get away with playing how you want every game and make opposition adapt to you. Once you get found out though, you are done, as you cannot back from your idea and then you "are unable to bring the team forward and need a hiatus"

Allegri better manager than Pep? Not for me.

Pep has been flexible at times anyway but his 100 belief in certain elements is a bigger strength than a weakness for him.

Maybe if Allegri had same conviction his teams would win more.

Pep is one of the reason behind that . Not just the players . Because he was such a idealist we witnessed such breath taking football. Sure there would have been cup wins under a different manager but not with the way we won under Pep . Real trusted Rafa because he won two league's with Valencia and a Cl in Liverpool . By trust , what i meant is owners are willing to spend shitload . That wasn't the case with other city managers and Rafa in Real Madrid

You're basically saying Pep was at the right place at the right time and rode the wave instead of doing anything special or noteworthy.

Allegri got schooled by Zidane's crossing tactics . Sums up everything  .

Never said that, I said that took most from the situation he got into. 99% of coaches never get into similar situations. I definitely do not believe any coach can do what he did, no way. Tata is great example of how you need to be really good coach to handle the team, the egos and the competitions. But his career after Barcelona has not been anywhere near as spectacular.

But how many managers have done a spectacular job multiple places?
