I agree with woobie. He more looks to be heading to Italia than anywhere else.

Pep going to Manchester United?! Nah, it's Mourinho's material through and through. Reds finally meet their Devil. Match made in heaven all along!

He did say more than once something about returning to coach at Brescia. Not too sure I see THAT happening but.

Honestly, I think he wants (and needs) a break from it all. And he deserves one.

How do you know that Tito did not win any titles?

I don't. I said I'm not so sure about it. I know what Pep is capable of and I was confident he could claim the title again seeing how unlucky we were this season. I don't know what Tito is capable of and this brings an air of uncertainty. I also explained in a previous post in this thread why I don't view Tito as the best possible replacement.

Any idea as to whether that "drama queen" in Madrid has shared his thoughts as yet on Pep's decision to take a break from football?

Doubt he'll be going to Italia to coach a Serie B side. It will be one of the big guns there.

Quite honestly, I'm not that surprised. You could see him very frustrated in the Chelsea game as well, he was making furious gestures from the sidelines,he really looked more nervous than i've ever seen him.......

I think part of it is also that he is dissapointed with this season. Considering the level of talent at Barca, a season without La Liga or Champions League is seen as a dissapointing year and I think he feels he should've accomplished more with this squad. I knew that if we failed in the CL,there is very little chance of him coming back. If we had successfully defended the CL crown i think he would've been tempted to come back and go for 3 in a row.

I also think that he's been dissapointed with the efforts of the players (esp. Pique and Pedro who have gone complacent I think after the success). I also remember him talking about how the players are letting 'random' factors get in the way of success (when asked about Barca's poor away form in the first half of the season). I just think he feels that he's given everything he can to this Barca side and now it's time for some fresh new voice at the club.

I hope he does come back and coach Barca some day. He's a top level manager and I only seen him coaching big clubs so there is always pressure at big clubs for success. I don't think he'll coach in England because the style of football that is played there doesn't interest him I think although if there is ever a job opening at Arsenal or ManU he might be tempted. I do see him in Italy at either Inter or AC.

Shit date, cross it off the calendar please!

wow!! great stat, Denny.

the PTC in me thinks that Pep will take a year off and come back for the start of the 2013 season. I know it's not rational or practical at all, but I don't care.

Lots of brazilians urging cbf to try to hire him :p
Since it's quite a taboo to have a foreigner as a brazil nt's coach, that shows how much Pep really is respected, even here. I'm honestly surprised about this.

Coaching a national team could interest Pep, he might be better able to handle the much lower workload, and of course coaching Brazil is second to none. But national teams are really more like all star teams than real teams, the coach can't really mold a style of play in the short time available. I think he will go to one of the other three biggest leagues next. He'll coach one of the top national teams later in his career.

I think he will spend this next year learning both Portuguese and German. It would be hard for him, or any coach, to turn down Bayern the season after next. In Germany, there are fewer league games, and a longer winter break, these would appeal to Pep as opposed to the heaviest schedule in the EPL.

He def said he want to manage Brescia....so thr is a possibility that we will manage Brescia for one season and come back to barcelona....as he never said he wont manage barcelona again....and records of manager's leaving barca and joining other teams has never good...although i wish all the success for him....but it would be little tough....he is always welcome back at Nou camp and i got a hunch that we will see him soon...thats why no big manager appointed.
they will see if things are going right with Tito which i hope they do and after a season or 2 pep will return....to achieve everything again.

cos after 5 years i know who will manage barcelona...with pep in management.ANS-XAVI

I think he will go to England, Spanish league and the epl are the 2 best leagues, serie A doesn't suit Pep.

Why doesn't it suit Pep? Let me guess, because it's "boring" and defensive", unlike the "heroic" way that teams like Chelsea play when they have 10 players in the box?
