What a bust he has been. It’s too bad. I was very excited at the time we signed him. Thought he would fit like a glove. How wrong that was.

At this point I don’t know who would even sign him. He’s on inflated wages that prices so many teams out of the picture.

Well, in this what it seems well balanced system we are yrt to see if he somehow reaches the heights he was meant to reach. His biggest problem is pedri, and our biggest problem is pedri because he wont get enough minutes to give at least 30% value of that attrocious sum of 140m

Should NEVER play instead of Pedri.

Pedri is a quicker decision maker and much better defensively. The only thing Coutinho has over Pedri is shooting from outside the box.

That rare, elusive long shot is the only actual threat he offers. We paid 140m for a goal against United..

Apparently BBZ won?t criticize this waste of oxygen but will write dissertations about how Messi is a fraud.

Lmao.

I don't go against my boys Raki, Cou, Pique etc.

And it is not as if Cou got too many chances as a CAM with Messi on a field and as a CAM without Messi on a field.

I am not too happy with Cou's mental strength, though.

His transfer really never made sense to me. We really need to stop signing false 9s when we have Messi. Most if not all have failed to their secondary winger positions.

He just loses all of his spark. He had no problem and performed really well in 2017/18. He then declined.

Just that simple.

He performed well in 2017/18 only when we played without Iniesta (EV rotated back then).

Whenever we played with Iniesta-Cou-Messi, we were way slower and less efficient since we had 3 similar players occupying the same area on the pitch.
Imo, it is obvious that he performs better without similar players as him on the pitch (or occupying the similar space).

This season, he played well early on iirc when Messi was on a right-central position and Cou as a CAM.
We played that way for only 2-3 matches and we played well.

After that Cou was pushed more to the left and he sucked there.
Further, in a few matches in a CL without Messi, he played better again.

Dembele was getting excuses for several years, like: he just needs one season without injuries, he needs to play on the left, he needs to play on the right, he needs Semedo around him to make runs, he is rusty and he needs time.

Cou was pushed to a LW in 433 for majority of time and he sucks there.
In 4231, he is also weaker as a left midfielder than as a CAM.

It is hard to be a playmaker in a team where Messi plays.
Even Neymar moved to Psg because he wanted more freedom on the pitch.

All in all:
1. Cou missed a lot of shots during his time here
2. His mental strength was weak
3. And at Barca, when you get a chance, you need to react fast and take it. No one will wait for you.

But still, as Cou's fan, I can't shake off a feeling that he was given too small number of opportunities in his favorite position and that he was always treated as "a filler" player aka = a coach will set a team based on some other players and you will play on a position where we won't have no one else to field.
And that was:
LM in 442
CM in 433
LW in 433
CAM in 4231
LW in 4231

Imo, he has similarities with Zlatan at Barca: at his time, a team had a different shape, it wasn't worth it to change it due to having Messi (both in Zlatan's and Cou's case) and it was hard to fit, get consistency and show a real form.
