Philippe Coutinho

Coutinho has reached the stage where he needs to go to a lower tier club and re-invent his career. How many seasons has he been without regular football now? 2 and a half?

There is still time if he is willing to find a Bolton in the 00s or Everton a few seasons back team to build up again. Surely someone like Leeds, Watford, West Ham would be interested.

Nah. His career is in a free fall. He made a huge mistake when he left Liverpool. Furthermore, when he arrived here he arrived to be a replacement for Iniesta and not a winger but he just couldn't fill his shoes. Another problem was that he was firstly used as a RM than LW and none of those positions suited him. In time when he was moved to Iniesta position he was already mentally destroyed. Unfortunately there are numerous examples of similar cases where top players just can't regain their form when they change environment. Too bad since he played really well during his first 6 months here despite the fact that he was played out of position. I really had high hopes for him.

Liverpool fans are always clowning on Coutinho for forcing a move to Barca.

But since moving from Liverpool he has won 3 league titles, 3 league cups, a Champions League, Copa America, got paid more, and doesn't have to live in Liverpool.

We can debate his contributions to those trophies, but the fact is that he has also become a winner since leaving Liverpool.

He has become shit after leaving liverpool, not a winner.

They clown him becuase liverpool won the champions league and the league too. And they got better without him.

to become a winner you have to be a good contributor - otherwise, you are just riding a bus; lord Douglas also won a treble, how much of a winner is he?

The champions league that you mention happened when he was kicked out of his club, the club who loaned him won it and didn't even bother to trigger any buy out later - wonder what is his contribution towards this win! Only contribution would be adding salt to the parent club's wounds, none other than that - which he keeps on doing by collecting his paychecks anyway!!

Not to mention they got better with the very money they got by selling him! van Dijk (who later almost won a Ballon d'Or) was probably bought with the money they knew they had in pocket because of this guy!!

Our club never learns their lesson - encouraging players to wreck havoc at their parent club and later buying for an exorbitant amount only to ruin it all, the player ending up an utter failure - Cesc, Coutinho, Dembouz, the list goes on!

No wonder we have a very bad relationship with each & every one of the big clubs out there!

That's very good because it means we believe we can sell/loan Coutinho. Matter of time probably.

Hope it's true but don't see it the same way necessarily. It's just that all other numbers (besides 10) are currently occupied. If they wanted to register Manaj they had to give him a number so it's understandable they took one away from someone who is currently still not fit to play. I could see Cou getting #8 when Pjanić is gone.

Or could be coutinho getting n10
Lol

Won't happen but as someone who don't give much importance to shirt numbers I'd really enjoy reading fans/social media reactions to that.

Given our attacking options I?m amazed we aren?t giving Coutinho a chance to rebuild his Barca career ..

Real Madrid did well with Hazard and Bale given lifelines
