Philippe Coutinho

It’s just the crazy fee we need to get for him now plus his current wages we need to get for him that put people off .. as soon as it was reported that we were prepared to loan him out .. Liverpool , Arsenal , ManU and Spurs were all interested .

No they really weren't lol.
Liverpool owners would never accept him back.
Arsenal won't pay 25m for a left back but you want them to throw 30m into a loan?
Every single player on earth is linked to united...
Spurs may have been the only legitimate club interested and only as a 3rd option.

Arsenal just paid 85 million euros for Pepe ... uk media were running the story of those 4 teams chasing Coutinho for about 5 days as soon as the ‘loan’ option was made public

I’ve no idea why I keep crossing swords with you .., it’s just a complete waste of time

Quote ..

Premier League side Arsenal are considering a shock loan move for FC Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian international has been linked with a move away from the defending La Liga champions, however no club has come forward with a formal bid for the former Liverpool star.

According to reports in Diario Sport, Unai Emery's is in contact with the Catalan club to negotiate a potential loan deal for the 2019-20 season.

I just think your thoughts aren't really grounded in reality. I can expand on why arsenal weren't really in for him but if you want to take diario sports word for it while ignoring other sources of there never being interest from Arsenal then that's your choice but it doesn't mean it's factual.

Well if they all wanted him why is he still a Barca player? Clubs are "interested" in a lot of players and i'm sure Barca and his agent tried a lot but as of now he is still here and the PL is closed, what leaves Barca with hoping that one of the 2-3 clubs that could theoretically go after him pull the trigger.

Otherwise it'll be watching Ernie ball from the bench for him, but maybe he's fine with that.

Last season really tanked the perception of Coutinho's quality. Now all we do is find clubs interested in loaning him.

Coutinho meet James Rodriguez, James Rodriguez meet Coutinho. You guys are going to get along great.

meh he has insane talent, if Pep turned Sterling into what he is now, imagine what he could have done to Coutinho, I can easily imagine him bombing on a wing, opening space, making 1 touch passes in the box, causing trouble, EV turned him into a chicken scared to even have a ball at his feet.

Pep would obviously possess the ability to potentially improve on Coutinhos overall play, but what Sterling had working for him is speed, agility and physicality despite his rather average/below average height. Coutinho has neither speed nor the physical presence of a true winger.

Yeah but Coutinho is more technical, can dribble better and his finishing was out of this world 2 years ago, he had a higher ceiling than Sterling I think.

His ceiling wasn't as high as it seemed. It's nothing new, really. Our mistake was letting our erections (as a club) make us break the bank on a player we in no way actually needed and fits nowhere in our lineup. Coutinho flopping harder than a Barca B graduate (He's legitimately worse than Puig, Alena, and even Carles Perez in each of the positions they play) is only icing on the cake.

Sterling was disgustingly underrated prior to Pep as well, imo.

I mean he never reached his ceiling, with every match he was deteriorating as a player here, under proper coaching he would have become an icon, he didn't get a chance to get that pep magic worked on him. While they both were at Liverpool, Coutinho reached higher level there.

Sterling was never underrated, City paid 50m for him years ago, I don't think anyone is surprised the level he reached.

Why the fuck it's so hard to not do those useless stepovers and simply pass the damn ball to the open man? Sorry, but that's simply on him and Valverde has nothing to do with it. And I don't think I hate someone more than EV.

It's like he purposefully tried to be annoying. He's gonna rub the bench so hard this season his ass is gonna hurt if he keeps this attitude.

He was a panic buy and was creating buzz on social media. So naturally Barca responds because they needed someone that can offer some je ne sais quoi that was immediately ripped from the club at the time. Too bad that was false advertising. And I know he shined at the WC but let's be honest he only shined because Brazil's top star was making a fool of himself to worldwide audiences.
