Had always said that the 'lack of quality' argument is stupid, and the 2 things blocking him at Barca were:
1) Confidence problems
2) The presence of Messi centrally, occupying his space and doing the things he would have done. Same goes for Griezman occupying his space.
Quite rewarding to see that these theses about him are getting vindicated
It's 2.5 games now. This is more than just form, he's back.
Coutinho X Buendia is the future.
Villa are not going to pay 40m for a player of his age with a year to go and when know how important it is for Barca to get off the books.
La Liga is littered with players scoring goals that were abysmal in EPL works both ways but no doubt EPL is far stronger.
A mid table game in EPL has Brazilian, Spanish, English internationals.
Tried to watch Granada v Osasuna I think it was for Collado a couple weeks back it was so slow, boring and devoid of quality had to switch it off.
Still a shit player, 2 good games for a mid table team won't change the fact that he is footballs biggest transfer flop ever. Last year he was overshadowed by an 18 year old at Barca, and this year by a 17 year old. So the excuse that he wasn't used right is not true. If two kids played better than him, its all on him being shit, and being a mental midget.
Liverpool became a winning team as soon as this loser left them. With Coutinho they were an average team, with their best finish being 4th, and once second because of Suarez playing on BdOr level. When Coutinho left they got 196 points in next two seasons.
If he can fool some team by getting him, so he never returns to Barca, it will be a huge win. Even if Barca don't get a transfer fee, will be great deal.
Pedri and Gavi are different players with different expectations and a hell of a lot changed at Liverpool not just Coutinho leaving.
Liverpool were desperate for him to stay for a reason he was their best player in year before he left.
They wanted him to stay, but they wouldn't have had the success they had, if he stayed. When he left, Mane, Salah and Firmino started playing with more freedom and on another level. Many things changed, yes, like getting VVD and Alisson, but getting rid of Cou was as important as getting them.
Ozil played great for Real, and they also started winning when he left. They are the same type of player, look great most of time, but if you want to play on the next level you need to get rid of those types of players.
Coutinho was top class for Liverpool and seen as integral to their style of play at that time. Was their best player in year before he left and they made him their highest ever paid player.
Team improved more than anything due to Alison, VVD and TAA/Robertson establishing themselves.
Top class player for Liverpool and maybe they win more with some creativity in midfield who knows.
Will take Klopps opinion on Coutinho and why he begged him to stay and made him highest paid player.
