Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

I don't believe Arsenal will be paying some of his wages for the next 6 months. Not only were they willing to let him go for nothing, they are willing to pay portions of his wages just to get him out of there? Really?

What is the alternative?
He stays there to sulk and milk them dry till deal expires in 2023? Barca wouldn't be interested in summer anymore and barely anyone would pay Auba what he would have wanted if it's a Spain move he wanted and that was the only time it'd have happened, and Arsenal would have blocked it.

Better agree to terminate and pay him some fraction of contract + he'd be more charitable to forego bigger fraction if Arsenal also agreed to make it happen seeing as this is the only way to grant his wish

Not because of Aubameyang but because of his comments on open space.

His goal is to forever play possession football around the box against teams who parked the bus.

Think he has revised that judging by his tactics.

It is much more about positions and space than dominating ball in final third so far.

At least seems to have realised how need those players with threat of pace to force teams to sit back more.

The Barca front line and mid have been too far from opposition area too often.

The players that are capable of playing that way don't exist. It is insanely difficult to play on such small spaces thst barceona used to do and some fans want. Maybe play in a way that gives the players more space and play faster then

Arsenal just announced termination by mutual consent. So stop having ideas about Arsenal paying him anything anymore. He signed as a free agent, a 6+12 months optional contract with us, reducing his wage from 350k per week to around 83k per week. If we don't use the option to extend him in the summer for that extra year, we have to pay him a certain amount as a penalty and he leaves this summer, otherwise he stays next season on the existing contract. Makes sense to extend him, if he doesn't completely shit the place up in these first 6 months, which I don't think he will. He'll be useful. This season most likely as a starter, and next season as a back up.

Bit of a bad egg but hopefully he grasped the nettle at his last big move and makes the most of it for a season or 2

It was said they would be paying him in lump sum when he left.. and media now saying they paid him 8m.
