You can't climb the table on strikers alone, and it doesn't matter where the goals come from. I don't think Arsenal will finish above United personally, but it really isn't that far fetched. Rooney to Chelsea will be a massive loss, and so will Ferguson and Scholes to retirement. As things stand Chelsea, City, Spurs and Liverpool have all strengthened, Arsenal have stood still, and United have gone backwards. I think United fans are so used to taking success for granted that they don't realise what danger they're in.

Arsenal will likely not be above United, they've both been equally poor in pre-season and in the transfer window, the difference being that United have more motivation.

Spurs on the other hand could surprise a lot of people, greatly strengthened their midfield and now their attack with Paulinho, Capoue, and Soldado, it's just a matter of holding onto Bale and then they have a squad good enough to challenge for top 4.

Liverpool have also done very well in the transfer window and with team dynamics in the preseason, I expect a good season from them, not top 4 but definitely an improvement from before.

And? Therefore? So? What? You can't climb the table on strikers alone, and it doesn't matter where the goals come from. I don't think Arsenal will finish above United personally, but it really isn't that far fetched.

united have better quality and squad depth in defence then arsenal, we also have better strikers who score more goals then those at arsenal. the only real issue in the united squad is the centre of midfield but that didn't stop us finishing a long way ahead of arsenal last season, united will sign players in this window by the way, david moyes has said that...

united won't sell rooney to chelsea, that is not going to happen so you should stop reading the red top tabloids. scholes retirement? he contributed very little last season, we would of won the league without him...

I really don't think United have a strong defence, how can you rely still on Ferdinand who is 34 and Vidic who just can't take a break before he gets injured again. From the other side many think that Evans is a decent player but i don't think he will ever reach world class standards, neither Smalling looks the so promising that he was called before.

It will be unpredictable as hell, can't really call the top four, but i think Manchester City will win comfortable

The rest, that's anybodys guess

evans is an excellent centre back, if he was on the market some of the biggest clubs around would want him, if barcelona signed him he would instantly be the best centre back at the club. if you think evans is no more then decent then i am afraid your showing your lack of knowledge on the player. ferdinand and vidic are getting older, that is why we signed jones and smalling...

I don't think it's preseason argument is that accurate when season is just a week away...I think people are massively overrating city considering non of their players were in top form last season compared to likes of Mata and Van Persie....I think chelsea are clear favorites for the title although if jose somehow struggles it could end up being 4 horse race and the team with 82-83 points may end up winning the title because the strength of rest of the league has also improved.........
