I am Leg End
Lallana is 25, he's not exactly a 'prospect' at this point.
But his best years are still to come though.

A lot of Central midfielders hit their prime in their late 20's..
Maybe not a top club but currently he would walk right into our midfield and would be a decent stop gap signing but he will be stuck at Southampton because they will demand £25m+ for him....They all do, but I don't see a top club coming in for a player playing at Lallana's level unless they're a youngster. He hasn't been that good this season.

Lallana is technically better than all the players you mentioned and he's certainly better than the likes of cleverly....signing him would not be a bad idea but the problem with him is he is more attacking but he lacks the ability to control the midfield like scholes and carrick.....Nowhere near good enough for United, not even as a stop-gap signing. We have plenty of squad players, what is missing from the middle is some real class. Sure Lallana is a good player, but so was Fellaini for Everton, Charlie Adam at Blackpool, and plenty more 'big fish in little pond' type players before them who just aren't good enough to take the big step up.
I'm not saying we should sign him but he can easily improve our team..I'm just saying he's good enough for us and he's certainly better than what spurs and Liverpool have........I've never really understood why so many United fans talk about buying attacking midfielders when it's not really a position that United even use conventionally. It's no wonder Kagawa spends most of his time on the bench.
Arsenal are going to win today. Lost against both Manchester teams so I believe today's performance will be better.
