Mourinho's tactics were to be expected, but honestly if Arsenal played more attacking it would have made for more counter attacking chances for us and overall the game would have been better. Not that I blame Wenger for the match, both managers were crap and the weather didn't help either.

Not the best game ever but a clean sheet and a point for Arsenal better than nought. I think Wenger just didn't want to loose to Mourinho.

Good result for Chelsea! Arsenal were like United they were scared to really go for it and commit players forward as they were scared of being countered!

The thing is, Mourinho set up a counter attacking formation thinking Arsenal would attack more, but when that's not happening you could at least try to attack yourself...

Decent result. Very negative football from Wenger but I can't blame him after the result against City.

EDIT: Not sure if there were many subs to make. Who was he going to bring on? Cazorla? Not only is he out of form but his defensive work is also not as good as Rosicky's. Podolski just got back from injury. Apart from that, there aren't many options, apart from more defensive ones.

and United. Played decent enough against both and dropped six points.

Top of the league at Christmas. Laavly..................

Although the last three times (90/91, 96/97 & 08/09) we were top a Christmas we didn't win the league :D

Still nice to be top a Christmas!

Every Chelsea game is boring so no surprise there.

I think Wenger didn't bring on subs because, well, he usually does in the 70th minute mark but from then until the end of the game we were on top (performance wise) and so any substitutions would've unsettled the team (defensively, offensively or both). I don't blame him.

Mourinho: "We let Arteta play completely free and have the ball. But he passed the ball from side to side, from full back to full back."

So true. Never got the fuss about Arteta.

Err, that's quite the exaggeration. He tried a few difficult passes for the attackers to run onto. And there were barely any passing options available. Chelsea kept their midfield ridiculously compact so the only space available was out wide.

53 forward passes from him today. Decent for someone who only passes it from side to side. And to be fair, it was obvious that he was instructed to keep it safe.

There's no "fuss" about Arteta either. He's a very good player, a good passer but not a world class playmaker. No one has said that either.

That doesn't say much cause passing forward to a guy 2 metres in front counts as a forward pass, but yeah, I believe Mourinho was just trying to say he wasn't effective like he usually would be. That said, yeah, there was never really a big fuss about him, he was good at Everton, and he's better now at Arsenal. He works hard and is just a generally good player.

Chelsea at home to Swansea then Liverpool. Interesting, let's see how Suarez does. He'll probably tear us a new one.

I know, but still.

Looking forward to seeing the game against Liverpool. Should be an interesting one. Both Suarez and Sturridge were kept quiet against Arsenal. I imagine Chelsea could manage to do something similiar.

I actually agree with most of them. I'd say, Koscielny instead of Lovren and David Silva instead of Barkley.
