Yeah, it's like the EPL thinks of the midfield as a "hot potato" area that it's a point to get the ball out of as quickly as possible. Either attack or defend, and the team rotate on doing it and accept that "now it's our turn to defend, when you drop the ball it's your turn!". Very few teams in the EPL tries to control the game or impose their style on it. That's the reason why english football does as badly in europe, they can get all the money they want, but it's cultural - this is how the brits like their football. Back and forth with tons of vertical space, the 60m sprint league....

This style reduces the differences between the best and the worst teams, because skill and tactics are not valued as highly, and this is why you have the top teams losing to bad teams all the time. And this makes for a very even league where the points are more evenly distributed. Over a full season it evens out so the best teams do get sorted out though.

Fun to watch for a match or two if there is goals, but you get a headache after a while. I much prefer the way football is played in La Liga (and the other major leagues), and have started watching more and more smaller matches here at the expense of bigger matches in the EPL.

Yeah both Arsenal and City showed that they don't care about the midfield in the CL games and we know what happened, what's more incredible, is there is no pace control, no tactical discipline, no intelligent pressing, this is not football.

Are you denying that was a fun half of football though, better than when we are 70% possession against a parked bus.

Besides that type of fast football worked well between 05-09 when English teams were doing very well in the CL.

Added some more text to my post :)

It's fun, but I get tired of it after a while. I like to see the duel of tactics and systems more. There are matches in La Liga that you never see in the EPL, matches where both teams struggle to impose their plan, and these are often classics that you simply don't get in the EPL. An EPL "classic" is usually a match where the teams wave back and forth for 90 minutes, with some goals and where the game is decided at the end. La Liga classics are sometimes those where a team either completely outplays their opponent with their system (Barcas manita over Madrid, the 6-2), or when a team who had control of the match slowly loses the grip as the other team manages to take over and impose their style, and come back to win. The recent Valencia win over Real Madrid comes to mind, I never see that type of match in the EPL. :)

I'm rambling though, back to the match.
