No its not the style as their are several different styles our teams play (Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham - Direct, High pressing City, United, Arsenal- Possesion orientated game) it is the quality of the players is not up to what they were a few years ago. Hopefully with the money we can bring in better players which suit the types of football the respective teams want to play.

Two things - defensive organisation and defensive transitions. BPL teams concede so much space by not being compact enough vertically and horizontally. Also they lack pressing organisation. They might run a lot but there's no use in running if you don't cover enough spaces, or cover the wrong spaces.

Chelsea is the only exception here, which is why they do well enough in the CL. They're often defensive but at least they defend well. When City or Arsenal try to be defensive it's a joke.

Rodgers is a very good manager. After losing Suarez and in principle also Sturridge for most of the season, their 2 main sources for goals, he's still found a way to remain 2 points within 3th place (if this result holds). Unlike van Gaal he's actually pulling the 3 man defense formation off properly as well.

It is crazy how once they can string a few wings together they get unbelievable momentum. They become almost unbeatable in the league once they win a few on the bounce. Rather annoying from a United fans pov.

Now Liverpool are favorites for that top 4 place....There's no way we're finishing ahead of them now with our fixture list.....We need Arsenal to slip up big time in order to make top 4......

We need to avoid the loss at Anfield, but odds on we look favourites for missing out now, we are in terrible form, are probably going to lose against City. City are screwing us over they're going to spank us at OT but lose against Arsenal and Liverpool.

Imagine if they still had Suarez and a fit Sturridge instead of trying to make Balotelli work. They'd be challenging for the title again, no doubt. It would easily give them an extra 10 points.

I think we'll either finish 2nd(unlikely) or 5th because of the fixtures we have and we'll have to do ridiculously well to finish in CL places...It sucks but it's better than last season when we had 5-6 meaningless games because our fate was already sealed......Is it just me who thinks we have no chance of winning vs City,Chelsea and Livierpool? I fear getting hammered in these fixtures after last season....

Wow, that fixture list is rotten.

But you don't need anyone to slip up. Just beat all the teams around you

Unpopular opinion but think we should park the bus against Pool, City & Chelsea, and try to get them on the counter, can see us beating Arsenal at OT because somehow it Arsenal cannot beat us.

Great win today. Brendan is so much better as a manager when he sets his teams out to attack rather than to contain like on Thursday. When Brendan sets his teams out to attack we are so difficult to beat.

Because of Man Utd's firepower you can never rule them out against us at Anfield or against other clubs.

I would say that top 4 is all to play for. Southampton will drop off and Spurs now have to catch all of us up now. So it looks to me like a 3 way fight for two spots.

Seriously we have no firepower, Falcao/RVP/ADM have been playing like mid-table players, players such as Fellaini/Herrera/Blind/Young have stepped up but bar Rooney we don't really have any special in form players this season.

Fun fact : Arsenal have always been either 3rd or 4th since 2005/2006. 10 years of being 3rd/4th,so close to the title. I don't even wanna imagine how it feels to be an Arsenal fan.
