Of course they will when PL teams rake in insane revenue and are also viewed by more people than other leagues in the world. Man City after all their investment are actually making money now (not that it matters to their owners). Most of the investors are doing it for sponsorship purposes anyway. Qataries are buying up the Olympic village in London, will not be surprised at all if they buy West Ham next.

PSG will always be limited by their league and lack of competition. There is not many PSG opportunities left either (huge iconic city 1 team).

PSG got bought by the Qataris because France has been their main "protector" since 1971 independence. They are also strongly in bed with the UK. As for EPL in general, it definitely has the advantage of global exposure. Like I said many times before, the continental teams must come up with a solution very fast or the EPL will just buy everyone up. Nothing short of global meltdown (or at least the Middle East blowing sky high, a real possibility as things stand) can impede the insane increase in EPL financial firepower.

Back to my initial point, from the European powers, the UK and France have the biggest footprint in the Middle East, hence they get lots of money from the GCC countries. In the narrow terms of football however, Ligue 1 is no patch on the EPL. Germany, Italy and Spain are not as privileged in their relation to the GCC countries as the UK/France are (even though they get a smaller share of the loot)

We are a work in progress - we have issues - big issues.

Sadly, these things take time - realistically I wouldn't expect much of an improvement this season. I'd expect that we'll have brought a few in and let a few go come next summer. I'll expect that pre-season and the aims of the new manager would come into effect and over time he'd get us playing as he wants us to play with some of the personnel to do that job.

It's been clear that we've got issues. It's been clear that we need to fix those issues and it's clear there is a load of work to be done. This is clear to everyone.

From what I know, EPL revenue just keeps going ballistic. I don't know, maybe a global financial crisis can prick their bubble :lucho:

As for FFP going out, rich benefactors have not done Spain or Italy much good up to now.

Like I said many times on this forum, I am deeply worried about the EPL's epic financial power. It simply pulverizes everyone else. Continental teams must come up with something real quick.

It doesn't matter how much revenue a league brings in when all that's available for them to buy is foreign mediocrity that they'll struggle to sell off because they've paid inflated transfer fees & committed to high wages that no one else in Europe is desperate enough to pay, or capable of affording besides.

And when EPL clubs are stuck with expensive mediocrity, therefore limiting their competitiveness on the transfer market as well as in continental competitions(sort of like now, but worse. Think Leicester and Tottenham in the UCL), you'll begin to notice what I'm describing.

If FFP is out that makes it worse for everyone else. Think of the teams left in the PL that can be invested in.. West Ham - Olympic Stadium, London.. check. Tottenham Hotspur - New 65k stadium, London.. check.. Birmingham clubs (2m people) - Aston Villa etc. Leeds United (1m people, 1 team). Newcastle United, Everton...

Many big clubs left with good projects available.

The English market is already saturated, therefore limiting potential for growth & immediate success(think UCL qualification).

Of course they will when PL teams rake in insane revenue and are also viewed by more people than other leagues in the world. You're only thinking of today, but that isn't the way investors operate or PSG never would have been purchased in the first place.

The English are currently experiencing disproportionate financial and marketing successes because they were the first to globalize(and also because they speak English). Way before the rest of Europe caught on, EPL clubs were spending big and amassing massive debts in order to grow their clubs and league. And for a while it worked, through the 00's some of the most recognizable names in football made them a force in Europe, spreading their global footprint to Asia and the Americas before anyone else realized its importance.

But things are changing, and footballs most recognizable players no longer play in England. Their clubs are no longer dominant or even relevant in continental competitions, and the fastest growing economies are now African & Asian. The English were only the first to benefit from footballs globalization, they won't be the last.

Walcott's screamer made 1:0, we should watch out for this kind of long shots from them.

Arsenal doesn't deserve to be on top, has not been impressive. De Bryune was a bit selfish.

Great goal by Theo, just seconds after De Bruyne should have scored. The game should open up now, it has been a pretty passive start by both teams.

Not really, City-players have been quite busy butchering Arsenal-players. Only 1 yellow when they should have had 4 or something.
