The reason I've gone for Arsenal is because I really do think after their back to back FA Cup successes they now have begun to get that winning mentality back. It has given then a brilliant foundation to build from.
I also saw their game against Chelsea at the emirates and I thought the gap between the two closed a little.
I think Cech will add them 10 points quite easily. Against the 14 other clubs they dispatch them quite easily now. It's only against Chelsea and the Mancs that their head to head record has been bad. However I do feel that their victories over both Manchester clubs in various competitions prove that they are able to beat them.
I agree I think they need striker and possibly a centre back, however I think their attacking unit is as complete as it can get imo. With Coquelin having the last six months under his belt and has proved his quality in the DM role he now has a whole season to show his talent. With Ramsey and Oxlade-Chamberlain beside him, it is a formidable midfield.
Yes Chelsea are favourites to retain however I think Arsenal can topple them.
People were laughing at me on here but I doubt any more. For me they have the best team in the league and when fully fit they have the best in depth offense in the league as well. Considering the rest of the teams in the league the lack of depth in central defence and a DM to compete with Coquelin won't be a hinderance to them.
Also people underrate the signing of Cech also. A solid and reliable GK gives a team an in built confidence that the last line of defence can save them out of danger and the breeds confidence amongst the defence and the rest of the outfield.
Plus the greatest thing of all winning trophies. I said it in the summer and I'll repeat it again winning the cup back to back has given them that winning mentality back again. That squad now know how to win trophies. It knows what it takes to get the job done. Of course the league is different from a cup but that confidence and mentality is the same feeling. That taste of winning trophies once you've won one just whets the appetite for even more and the hunger increases.
Even more so with Pellegrini now certain to leave and Pep going to City next summer (presumably) well needless to say that means the city players won't fight as hard for Pellegrini now - its only natural when the whole world knows what is going to happen so the City players will have no incentive to fight for Pellegrini. So the way is clear for Arsenal it is their best chance since 2004 to win it again and I believe they will.
