Do you think that a defender in such a pose with his hands can meet the striker in the penalty area, and not remove his hands behind his back?

Not all ball hitting hands are handball. The defender isn't doing anything wrong in the first picture. He is very close and the guy hits his hand (which is along his body) with the ball from a very short distance.

In the second picture, i would have given penalty if it wasn't a ball deflected from City player's hand. That being said, i wouldn't have allowed Liverpool first goal though. I would have given a free kick to Liverpool for Silva handball.

Thicc is subjective though for BBZ , when Real won those 3 CL's , Modric-Casemiro-Kroos where thicc physical workhorse beasts. But when they got slapped around by Ajax they have become techincal midgets.

Well, CR7 187 cm, Benzema 185 cm, Bale 185 plus Sergio Ramos 184 cm at every single cross (except Ramos, of course) and a free kick/corner, were quite a better option for crosses and headers than a team who lost to Ajax 1:4:
NO Cr7, no Bale, no Ramos. With Vinicius 176 cm and 62 kg and Vasquez 170 plus Nacho 180 cm instead of a flying tower Ramos (184) in defense.
They lost height, muscles and 2 captains. They went "full Barcelona" against Ajax.

Not to mention that they lost half of a team, leadership and clutch CR7.

How come Salah, Mane, or Firmino are NEVER injured despite playing basically every game over the last 2-3 seasons.

And playing intense as well.

Salah was inured in CL final and in World Cup. Probably the worst time for his career.

If Liverpool win the Premier League this season I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp resigns or plays out his contract next season and leaves.

Klopp spoke about retiring early, that he doesn't want to coach for so long until he is very old (he is 52 already) so I won't be surprised if he stays for couple of years and then retire while at his peak.

This is true but even this injury wasn't down to football. If it wasn't for Ramos practicing judo out there he would have been fine.

Pep was it in 2009-2011. We were lucky to have him and that generation of players.
Klopp is a nowadays better manager and motivator and I can't say I'm disappointed as I always preferred historic clubs versus these artificial ones and their unlimited budgets.

Can you imagine pep taking over Liverpool and doing what Klopp did? In the end he won't do anything others haven't done before him in Bayern or City.

Fifa should do something about pitch size.. Liverpool is an exceptional team but that pitch is so fucking small the home team gets huge advantage by playing on it and getting used to it.. There is no space to pass the ball around. I heard that anfield is the 3rd smalled pitch in the premier league. Meaning 17 other pitches are bigger.. The biggest being ettihad and old Trafford.

Again, that is partly:
1. due to player's individual injury proneness tendency
2. bad luck injuries
3. and due to Liverpool's players haven't played in big teams, or wasn't starters and their bodies are still kinda fresh.

Salah:
2013/14: 40 matches
2014/15: 34 matches
2015: 16: 42 matches
2016/17: 41
2017/18: 52
2018/19: 52

Salah has only 2 seasons over 50 matches.
Even worse, he has only 2 seasons with more than 42 matches.

Mane:
50, 44, 29, 43, 40, 50, 33

Rakitic:
54, 55, 51, 57, 51

For example, last 5 years for Barca's players:
54 matches per season Rakitic
52 Messi
50 Busquets
49 Suarez (due to a suspension)
46 Pique

Liverpool:
46 Firmino
44 Salah
44 Van Dijk
41 Mane

So, Liverpool vs Barca, even without a coach:
1. we are way older
2. our players played way more in the last 5 years in a row, and especially in the last 10 years on a row
3. we won everything and we aren't motivated anymore

Pep has and always will be a moron when it comes to transfers imo

Not replacing kompany has cost City the title.

And he wanted to sell half our starting 11 in his final season here lmao and left after the board refused.

Do you know the official size of the pitch ?

I have searched and i got different answers :

-14. Liverpool, Anfield, 110 x 75 yards, 8250 ( https://worldsoccertalk.com/2007/10/22/top-20-biggest-pitches-in-the-premier-league/ )
-Anfield – 100 yards by 74 yards (101m x 68m)
Camp Nou – 114 yards by 74 yards (105m x 68m) ( https://www.discountfootballkits.com/blog/football-pitch-size-guide/ )
-Anfield Field size, 101 metres (110 yd) by 68 metres (74 yd) ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anfield )

It doesn't seem that much smaller. It has the same width and is only a few meters short compared to Camp nou pitch.

Few meters makes a huge difference in counter attacks.

Yeah people crying about pitches is funny lmao.

Nothing is stopping the club from making the pitch as large or as small as they like as long as it meets regulations

Our larger pitch gives us an advantage for possession football you think it's a problem?

Few meters makes a huge difference in counter attacks.

It isn't that big. 4 meters.

I would have agreed if Camp Nou was a lot wider too but it doesn't seem to be the case.

And Messigician is right that you have an advantage over them when playing in your "longer" pitch at home. They are within the regulations, you have to adapt.

I'm not advocating for a change. All I'm saying is 4 meters is about 12 feet which isn't a negligible difference at the absolute top level (like CL). If you can shorten the length of the pitch, it helps a little in counter attacks. I think Camp Nou is closer to the average than Liverpool's is (if the provided measurements are accurate)

I agree about that but the thing is if they are getting an advantage from their pitch size at home games, they are playing at a disadvantage in away game.

Actually, it could totally explain why they are so poor away. The ones to blame are those teams not scoring enough goals with this advantage at home compared to Liverpool making the best of that situation at Anfield.

Total-Football was advocating for a change which is why we have this discussion.

We had this discussion before.. I don't believe the numbers circulating the internet.. There is no fucking way in he'll anfield has the same width as the new camp.. And of course, even from a neutral point of view, larger pitches make the spectacle better because of space. Camp nou is à huge pitch and this is not a myth. Many champions league players even legends of the game who played in every pitch said that the barca pitch is significantly large.
