Plenty of pace in Pep's Barca with Pedro and Messi. And pressing was at a very high level, similar to this Liverpool. Salah is closest player to Messi in terms of role on the field as well.

How depressing this must be for Man United fans

Not only are they utterly shite but their arch rivals are amazing

Both their rivals are by far best two teams in Europe.

Klopp has his best squad ever and City about to sign Haaland.

Pep and Klopp be there for years yet also.

Tough times for United.

VERY.

"Can we just walk off the pitch."

"We are the biggest embarrassment in the world."

"My nan can defend better than these losers."

"If there was a trophy for spinelessness, our players would win everything."

Not as much pace as this Liverpool team and TAA is huge creative part of side in role Barca didnt have and midfield is very different in roles they have in side.

Also Liverpool are unreal at set pieces. Up there with West Ham for best will see about.

Salah is bit like Messi at times but Messi at his best under Pep played false nine. Salah doesnt.

To be fair this United side makes every side they play against look miles above their normal level. Big clubs that are broken mentally, have given up and in crisis are always prime pickings to receive a thrashing. Liverpool are a cracking side, but Burnley would put up a much better fight. City/Pool destroying United these days is as predicable as us shipping 3-4 in CL KO matches away from home in the late 2010s.

We're very different to peak Barca. City much closer.

We're much more vertical and play quicker than that Barca. We play long diagonals and long balls too. Our game is more spread out using the width of the pitch.

Salah can be Messi like with his dribbling and finishing at times but they play very different roles under Pep and Klopp.

Salah is more like Messi under Lucho.

Would argue Liverpool more like Luchos Barca than Peps.

Three mids there to let front three go rather than dominate ball, Messi on RW and Alves in RB/DM role.

Misconception. Nobody passed the ball quicker in the attacking third better than 08-09 or 10-11 Barca.

By 2011-2012 it was getting stale because players didn't have the work rate to keep it up (and Pep's bad recruiting).

And what happened from 2013 onwards is not a reflection of that 08-11 Barca (from 2013 onwards whenever we've had 70% possession it hasn't been quick and incisive and attacking except for in 14-15 because of a nuclear front 3).

Pep's 10/11 Barca would handle you lot without too much difficulty.

You are like Bayern essentially, especially the pre-Pep Bayern... ;)

Temptation, if you lads do the treble this season, then you can fairly sit at the table of legendary football sides (for me, there's only 5-6 of those). No arguments from me then, but right now, the trophy haul is a little too low to go full on awe-struck mode.

For now, your 70s and 80s teams are "better" historically.
