Agreed, but the bolded part is highly questionable. I don't see any positive signs that we'll be able to compete with these EPL clubs and pay 100-120m for players anytime soon.

I think in 2/3 years our wage bill will be more manageable & we should be able to spend 150-200m per summer, In today's market that's about average, it's just a matter of being smart with our money, like Madrid has been, buy a few high impact players, save for 1 or 2 summers then go in hard again.

Which is why winning is so important to the current boards plan, 2/3 years from now, we have 1 or 2 Liga titles under our belt we can attack a top top talent.

Go 6 plus years without winning, it becomes more difficult.

Real are not nearly as good a side as some try to make them out to be.

They are weak defensively and dont control games in way prime Kroos/Modric could.

Their biggest strength is their front players doing something from nothing but at same time Vini can do that or be an even more wasteful Dembele.

Vini never gives in though and always looking for ball time and again even if playing shite. Always a danger.

Madrid's top level is up there with the best teams. Their problems, as usual, are coming up with the good frequent enough.

That's where it's going. Billionaires flexing it with their football team in front of other billionaires and their own football teams. Fan owned models are being rendered obsolete by the huge jump in prices. No way in hell they can keep up.

To an extent but the EPL does have spening rules and if teams like Chelsea dont watch they will become constricted by them.

Investors dont fancy La Liga but maybe one English teams are almost all owned La Liga can be next port of call.

Sad thing is I doubt it.. and money will go to France or Italy.

Exactly. When it's an owner, and his own money at stake, the sense of responsibility is highest it can be. You do well, or you sell to someone who can do a better job.

Investors don't fancy La Liga, but they will 100% fancy Barcelona or Real Madrid. Honestly the only clubs in Spain that is worth it for a billionaire to buy. Some of them don't acquire their clubs to make money anyway.

Regarding refs on Man Utd-Man City match, it is clear that FA and refs "adjust" their views based on what they need in particular season.

As someone already mentioned, FA probably wants Man Utd back, because they are the biggest English club who brings tons of money.
And they will also push Arsenal back, to a title. From the same reasons, huge English clubs, it is better to inject their fans some fresh blood.

In Italy, the same happened with AC Milan in the last 2-3 seasons. Last season when they finally won a title, they had a pen more or les in every match for every single contact.
Why?
Because Italian FA needs big AC Milan and they need Milan back.
It will bring back more prestige, more money, more buzz, more viewers longterm to Seria A.

In Spain, refs are helping to RM, but not for the same reason as in England and Italy.
In Spain it is because politics (Catalonia is not Spain).

And then you guys wondered about my rants during a WC, helping to some big teams, and how someone out of 3-4 big/brand teams needed to win, helped by ref's pens whenever possible.

If they are given the room to invest and make a difference and not constricted by Tebas rules.

The levers will put off investors a bit at Barca.. they wont be wanting to give up 40m a season on transfermarket to their rivals and pay out that much on club assets each year.

Unless investment would be allowed to pay that back which I would think is difficult.
