Arteta is lucky Arsenal had patience, clubs like Chelsea would have sacked him Long before he had time to turn it around.

Arsenal were not in a demanding position tbh. Arteta got them punching above their weight even last season imo.

Will never manage in the PL again, the guy hasn't a clue.

You'd like to think so but his name will probably still give him opportunities. Just need to look at lampard landing the Everton job (and he's much better than slipy -g).
It was only till recently that they stopped swapping around those relegation speciality managers eg Steve Bruce, Sam alardyce etc lol

Arteta didn't get 600m to spend in 2 windows and the Chelsea squad had a much much better base level. Just look at that arsenal squad when he took over to the squad he has now. He won the fa cup in his first year and beleive it or not there was gradual progress.
Don't think it would of been the same imo,he would of done a much better job.

Chelsea is a club that fires UCL winning managers after a few bad months.

Arteta would not have survived at that club, even if performances had been a little better then what he did at Arsenal.

Arteta picked the right club that allowed him do build, many other clubs would not have done so.

Chelsea was a club that fires cl winning managers, under bohely his intentions are obviously for a more long term manager. Bohely has wanted to the long term project but potter has only made the team worse and was rightfully sacked.
If Arteta was employed at this point with his inexperience with that backing he would of been shown the patience as he would of delivered better results and shown progress compared to potter imo.

Under the previous regime neither of them would of been hired.

Luis Enrique to Chelsea perhaps? He's been very vocal about wanting to coach in England the last few days. Can't be a coincidence.

Or perhaps Nagelsmann too. I sense that the board might consider him too inexperienced though.

Inshallah.

If that were his intentions, then he is light on the head to put it politely.

Potter's underlying number have been constantly improving. Yesterday he gave his plays a 3-1 game, and they returned him a 0-2.
Football is a sport for the ones who are patient.

This shitty mentality that is all MAdrid's has infected many clubs, Chelsea the most notable one, but recently even Bayern have succumbed.
Thankfully, there are still clubs like Arsenal Liverpool City left that trust their managers long term

Nagelsmann is tasty. I bet he'll be motivated as hell after he got the sack at Bayern.

No serious coach will ever take the Chelsea job after what the new owners did in the space of 8 months.

Some daring one who thinks he can win immediately like Conte might try it, but no serous coach will ever touch it from now on

I'm aware he hasn't been helped by his players missing sitters. But he's made the team worse compared to where they were under tuchel. Tuchel was doing poorly himself due to the effect of sanctions and working relationship.

For me potter was not qualified and didn't have the stature to manage the club. He had like a 30% win rate at Brighton and that didn't improve much under Chelsea. Underlying numbers or not his position is not acceptable.

I know you like him Birdy but he wasn't it at this level imo. He was just poor all round.

Don't agree. We didn't see Potter after being given time to build. Time is at least 1.5-2 years for every coach.
Now, Tuchel is top 5 coach in the world, so maybe yes he is worse than Tuchel, but that doesn't say much.

Further proof that the man who takes decisions at Chelsea is seriously stupid:

Todd Boehly believes Chelsea can win the UEFA Champions League and the situation changed after he held talks with Potter today - Chelsea players are shocked. (

You can imagine what kind of storm is going on inside his head all season

Potter lacked the credibility for a top managerial post.

Chelsea are a weird one, they spent 100s of millions not buying star prime players, but potential players which is Potters MO as a coach. Yet they expected instant results.

Potter is a bit like Nagelsmann though, a bit too much a bit too early. Needs to do it and a more patient club before potentially going again to a top club.

Easier for Nagelsmann than Potter as he has a bit more personality for top tier egos. Potter may end up being one of those big fish in small pond kinds.
