Pfff... come on... that's your argument?

Kane obliterated his 17 PL goals.

No, my argument is that Zlatan was still an elite player and won almost everywhere he went while contributing with most goals.

You are selling him way short.

Nah. He only joined one seriously elite team in his career, his only shot to prove he is among the very best players in the world, and acted like an asshole, was binned as a result, and went back to his small pond (Serie A in early 00s was a joke compared to 7-8 years before) where he could be the big fish he always fantasized about being.

Zlatan is a story about ego being the most important thing, and ego + poor upbringing is a terrible combo. He was happiest in lower level environments where he could be the best and receive his much-needed eluogies. As soon as he joined an environment where hard work, discipline, and sacrifice were need to become great, he caved and was kicked out with his tail between his legs.

Maybe as a whole. Maybe.

They got Haaland though. He's a bonafide goalscorer so you never know!

They're much more inconsistent and coin-flippy than they have been in recent years.

They were robotic, efficient killers that could dominate games and sap the other team's soul, but who couldn't find that bit of individual quality when things weren't going their way in the CL.

Now they are more beatable but also have the X-factor of Haaland who could carry them over the line in CL games.

It's a gamble.
