Very on brand from usual suspects to completely misconstrue what players say to suit their point

Also love the continued repetition of a baseless assumption that players who played like they did in 00s, if got yanked out their era and plonked into 2020 wouldn't a) get in the gym/cryochamber b) it'd make no difference or better yet make them worse because they'd forget how to kick a ball with 100% accuracy.
Any of these dudes from 00s were Jordans of their era without access to facilities to help them be at peak condition so many of them obsessed over training 24/7. And with great results. Give them current tools and see what happens

But nah, fucking Aston Villa would roll them  all the while we're watching a 38 year old Modric runs rings around every Premier League side to prove entire point moot

That's not the argument dude
I didn't examine anything about Zidane or Pirlo or Seedorf being raised in contemporary football, and had all the tools, science, facilities, etc

The point was very simple: those teams and those players AS THEY WERE BACK THEN, with their training, and their science, and their facilities, and they way they played football BACK THEN
how they will fare VS a 2024 side, AS THEY PLAY BALL TODAY in all the above factors
And I used the example of Villa, to avoid talking about a superpower like City or so, but a simply decent side in terms of tactical approach

Erik ten Hag is set to remain in charge of Manchester United next season after INEOS pinpointed the real reason behind his struggles: The previous executive team hadn't provided the easiest of foundations for success at United. (Source:@TheAthleticFC)

LOL
Another huge L pending for the BFidiots

And a sign that the new INEOS management at UTD is serious

Me on suicide watch? United are too fun to watch under ETH. Good news to see them fight for top 4 again next season. All those money spent for so little return is sweet.

Parallel to overrating players before they actually did anything truly notable... there's also overrating managers who are easy on the eye occasionally, but can't get shit done where and when it matters.

That's why Arteta is a top 5 manager currently. He actually made Arsenal compete for the title in back to back seasons from a similar position to Spurs. Guys like Ange have a lot to prove to get to that level.

If the league is tough, but you get huge funds to compete at the top and you fail, and end 5th, 7th, 10th, you don't get credit for this lol. You have to work at it, and build the team and be better than Arsenal for example. Take the road Arteta took and prove you're better than him.

That's what Ange, Poch, ETH have to do in the next seasons. Trump what Arteta did at Arsenal at least.

Not many cries for de Zerbi now, huh? Currently 12th with Brighton, more losses than wins.
Said it before, but he's a decent coach that was getting ridiculously overrated.

Football fans in general are fickle, one name will be temporarily fashionable and others just hop on the bandwagon without having ever watched the side the bloke is currently coaching. He's won less games than Dyche this season.
